2015 Muscle Car Masters DVD-What A Rip Off
Yesterday I received my copy of the DVD of this year's Muscle Car Masters.I have bought the DVD of this event every year since it started. As a buyer beware I would warn anyone against wasting money on this year's edition.
Whereas 6 or 7 years ago there would be over 2 hours of highlights 2015 comes in at just over 70 minutes. They do not even show, except for a few seconds of highlights, the second TCM race. All you get over the highlights program shown on 7 last weekend is 1 race each from Group S,Nc and HQ's.To expect people to pay around $30 for this is a joke. Given that they film every race there would be negligible cost in putting most races on the disc or at least starting from the point of view of giving consumers value for money-repeat customers anyone?- and working out how much content they can put on it. It is not surprising given what these people have done since taking over Chevron that sub standard product comes out under their name but this DVD sets a low bar. |

A agree Alan.
I've thought that with many 'review' DVDs over the years. They film SO much stuff at events like these, and put comparatively bugger-all on the DVDs. I can understand a 60min or so 'wrap-up' of the whole thing as part of a DVD, but pack the rest of it with all the footage you can. |

Whichever format they choose to produce it in though, why can't they give us the whole lot? Why bother filming 3 days' worth if you're only going to sell 2 hours' worth?

Regarding the streaming alternative it is hard for them to get a financial return on that but I guess they won't sell many copies of this turkey anyway. They could have full replays of every race on Sunday and it would clock in at less than 3 hours. |

Don't forget that a not insignificant cost is studio time to edit the coverage and add the commentary - remembering it is not a live telecast.

Chavez that is actually the main cost of producing this type of footage.

Looks like its not only the magazine that's gone backwards in quality and quantity. From what I understand this years event wasn't anywhere near as good as previous years. The DVD obviously reflects that.
