SpeedTV will have all the races and quali live for sure, and TSN will have most of the races live (some tape delayed) in Canada... other than that, we'll just have to wait...

So there is no indication if any races will be broadcast on a network as well (i.e. CBS)? Just curious, because Speed isn't available to me.

Surely CART could make money for some network. If they're not broadcasting Basketball, Football, Nascar, Golf, why wouldn't they want CART? Since they have the agreement with Speed which is owned by Fox (right?), why wouldn't they show CART races when they're not showing one of the other sports? NBC seems to show fewer sports... Hell even UPN!

Welcome to the forum, Extreme. I don't think the TV package has been announced yet, but I thought SPEED did a good job with their coverage last year,

All races on Speed except the following: Road America, Laguna Seca (both on CBS - promoter's contracts) Toronto, Portland, Lausitz (network TV I guess) Brands Hatch (no TV coverage?) All Qualifying is on Speed for the above list except Brands Hatch (?). No mention of Chicago either. Definitely a huge budget cutback for TV. |

Oh well, at least a few races on network TV. I guess CART has to spend the money where they need to right now. Hopefully a good season will make them a bit more lucrative property in the future. Not to say that speed doesn't do a good job (not that I'd know, I've never seen a race on speed), it's just not available to everyone. I agree that you'd think SOME network would want to put a race on. Can't pull much worse ratings than old sitcom reruns. You'd think maybe SPEED could syndicate the races; that is, show all of them on SPEED itself, but also sell the broadcast to local network affiliates on an individual basis. But then, SPEED's FOX connection may throw a wrench in that as well.
