Great hopes after qualy petered out into a fairly ordinary rave determined by tyre strategy.

Once both the WDC and WCC are decided, the remaining races are a bit of an afterthought, so trying to get all enthusiastic is tad tricky. Having said that, this was an ok race but nothing more than that. 5.

8/10 -- It was quite an interesting and tense battle! McLaren and Mercedes were much more in contention than they have been, which was great stuff!

I was torn between a 6 and a 7 and ultimately went with a 7.It did look like there could actually be a scrap for the win in the middle stages of the race.

With the usual 'I only watched the highlights' proviso, I didn't really find it very tense at all. Yes, it was good to see Mercedes and McLaren performing pretty well, but disappointing to see how quickly Norris' McLaren fell away. It was really another easy win for the Verstappen steamroller, from 6th on the grid, even with dodgy brakes. A 5 from me.

Edit - having only watched the highlights and having passed on the post race stuff in favour of a full English instead (!) I hadn't seen the disqualifications. Shame. Bearing in mind everything else that goes on, a straight disqualification seems pretty harsh to me bearing in mind how obviously bumpy the circuit is in places, but I guess 'rules is rules'.

6. Plenty of battles and a race for the victory, but overshadowed a little by the DQs post race

7, based on the highlights only, though they were running reasonably closely to each other that mistakes could have cost places.
I don't think you can blame the bumpy surface for the disqualifications as it was the same surface for all the drivers. Running the curbs is just as likely to cause excess wear and that is something the drivers can control.
So happy to not see a red flag nor too many stewards investigations.

it was nice that there was some uncertainty about tire life and strategies so that made the race was kind of interesting. really like the venue tho so that gave it a bump from me. generous 6.
