Cars for Sale
I have noticed lately that a large number of Group C3 & CN sports cars (especially PRCs and Osellas) are coming on the market. Is there something going on in this part of the sport that is driving these cars to the block?

(Just kidding) No - in fact we have a very healthy scene for this kind of cars here in Europe - they are the "DP´s" of the "old world" - cost effective, fast, available in masses - and maybe more aesthetic then the DP´s. The fact that lots of this cars are availble is that many teams try to sell them for updating to a newer car. Appropiate Racing series are:
So a lot of trophys to collect with these kind of cars... Last edited by GT-Eins; 1 Dec 2004 at 03:38. |

The builders that are creating what we call the SCCA CSR and DSr classes seem to be doing pretty good business here in north America as well...
They are relatively inexpensive, and they fly like a bat out of hell, even though they are, in most cases anyway, powered by small displacement engines.... |

He he he...I was just kidding about CN, Cybersdorf and Tommy!
There is nothing "wrong" with CN, it's just that my ultimate aim is a closed top proto. Since I can't afford to buy one, I guess I'll have to build it. And since I am retiring in 130-ish days (14 Apr 05), I will soon have some extra time on my hands. As for the diesel, it continues slowly. I have been busy rebuilding the Ralt for a possible return to club racing in '05 (or sale? ), along with finishing my CSR rebody (I couldn't make the previous body fit without major surgery). I have also been offered two positions as team engineer for '05 (with pay!!! ) Look for the diesel to hit the track in '05 if all goes well! There's still no one doing it here in North America, so maybe I can still be the first. |

Yes, that would do very nicely, indeed!
And only £25,000...? Hmm, I wonder how fast I can sell the Ralt. Don't tell Rennie, though...! hh: |

Prosport was a single make prototype series, from what I recalls the car was designed by Lee Noble who also penned the Ultima, with which it has some similarity...
...and nowadays sells GT cars under his own name. As for who built the Prosports, I really can't recall. It's been a few years since the series has disappeared, although the cars are still campaigned in several local/regional British championships, and are - surprisingly enough - eligible for British GT. A Ferrari-engined example runs in the historic Gp.C/GTP series over here. |

Thanks for the history. I am familiar with the Ultima, but in my opinion Noble should have stayed with the Prosport design...I find it a much more handsome car!
Anybody else have more details? I searched, but came up pretty much empty handed. Thanks! |

To buy an ultima (Kitcar!) would be a better choice then to opt for an old prosport in my eyes - except $$$-reasons are an obstacle. |
