Helmet painters.

Can anyone recommend a helmet painting company?

I spoke to one yesterday but they couldn't do it until the end of May.

Cheers.

I had a bad experience with one of the so called popular helmet painters, lack of response, unhelpful and they didnt even bother to get back to me, I had a 10 week open slot...In the end I gave up and decided to look around. I guess that happens when they enter the world of F1, normal people become less important for them.

Before Xmas, I went to visit Mike Fairholme, we spent a good 4-5 hours going through the design in detail going through a mock up of ideas etc. I was impressed with his professionalism.

I know he is very busy at the moment, but wouldnt hurt to give him a call.

Thanks RF.

Just found his website, only want something simple (historics), but probably should of thought about it at the end of last season.

I googled and found another company near me so just waiting to see if I get a response else I will contact Mike.

Must be good business as they all seem busy for a couple of months.

Email me at steve@rpdmotorsport.com and I will put you in contact with a very good painter (ex JFL painter) who will get a helmet turned around within 7 days of getting it, and has a flat fee of about £300-£350 unless you want chrome etc.

We just had my sons kart helmet painted by SFX designs. £300 and he's very happy both the design and the finish.

http://www.revolutioncustompaint.co.uk/

I had similar problems last year getting a helmet done in what to me seemed a reasonable 10-week window, although when some F1'ers have a new helmet every race, no surprise that there are queues.

I came across Graham at revoluition custom paint. I already had my 'Mr Blobby' design, so he was able to turn around v quickly and v competitive price.

Link above

if i could work out how to attach a pic i would !

I'll say this only once

I'd rather have a plain white helmet and £300 in my pocket than a pretty pattern.

If you look fast, you feel fast, you are fast. Even more so because you don't want to be the bloke who turns up with a painted helmet but is seconds off the pace.

OP,

Not sure if this might help out a few people but we have just released a site with all helmet painters in one place. The site is called Helmet Ink and the idea behind it is kinda a Google for helmet artists. I too have had some difficult times finding or contacting artists. The site is design to get you in touch with them right away and see all of their portfolio. We are adding new artists every day and soon we will have a directory by country so that clients can look up artists in their area. Let us know what you think as we are fans/racers just like you. Cheers.

+1 On Mike Fairholme, he did mine (a yellow Patrese) and the original.

I used Custom Helmets, which are done by Carl Hodgson, fast turnaround, and good quality.
