rounds 7-9 @ thruxton 2014
time for 30 cars to hit the fastest track in the uk, the driver missing this time is Robb Holland who Audi still needs to be fixed.
also please bear in mind there is no soft tyre this weekend. also for the 1st race this weekend no 45kg due to jointed chamionship leaders Plato and A.Jordan |

Any mention of boost levels yet? Is the list ever made public? I know once before Louise happened to flash the print off on TV.

Jordan is now the best driver in the field. They'll need more success ballast (or last lap punctures) to stop him taking a 2nd title!

There are plenty of good drivers and good cars in this championship and the joy of BTCC is that any car could win and any driver so predictions like that for the season are a little early, we all hope things are close and racing is cleanish

They were just discussing the James Cole rebuild on TV. They mentioned that it's based on a shell borrowed from Speedworks. James mentioned that it was different and it took a while for him to get comfortably positioned in the car. That's made me wonder just how different the various Toyota are; given the Speedworks version seems to be the one to have, that chassis write-off could be a blessing in disguise for UA..

Matt Neal with an early entry for one of the passes of the season with his effort on Jackson, great improvised dive down the inside when he realised he got better traction.
Nice to see Murray there too. Good first race all told, and no punctures too, surprised? |

Sweet Caroline!
This kids put on an almost perfect clean demonstration of racing at the UKs fastest track, kudos to them. BTCC and its supports really are the best package on the planet at the moment. If only we could do something about those Porsches, but I guess you need a low to appreciate the highs |

Just watched Jackson's overtake on Goff again, there's definitely a green flag being shown between Church and the chicane at the marshall post on the outside of the circuit. There are another two posts before the chicane after the one showing the green flag and only the last one has got the yellows out. Jackson's already ahead of Goff at that point. |

Nasty shunts for Ollie Jackson & Simon Belcher. I can't help but feel the inadequate looking tyre wall at Church may have helped Belchers car into a roll.

something else which I missed
did Gio let Jackson thru or was he simply passed ? Gio's Focus looked much more lose and soft, rear wheel lifted in air while Jackson behind him nothing of that sort, so it wasn't exactly same setup and Tim Harey mentioned that Jackson likes a lose rear car which suggests he did use hard bar/springs at rear |

I think the decision not to stop the race was dangerous. If another car went off in the same place the only thing that would of stopped it would have been a tree. I have the feeling that if it was a club event it would have been red flagged.

I agree, it should have been red flagged, that barrier section needs to be redesigned as at the moment it looks very much like the stack out the back of ATS rather than a tyre barrier |

I was there. Nobody actually knew whether Simon Belcher was okay at Allards where I was, so everyone was pretty worried, especially when the only thing we knew about it was the replay on the big screen of a Toyota going off the circuit at 120mph at an angle and airborne...
...as for the Ginetta Juniors race, I hope it was as good on TV as it was as a spectator. Foster's shunt in R2 and O Jackson's R3 hit looked nasty too. I think the barriers at Church may need a rethink... ...but great racing nevertheless. And as for what I said earlier about AJ, he finished 1st, 2nd and 4th with no less than 36kg of ballast on his car all weekend. He's the best driver in the field now... |

It was a great day of racing all around, with only the usual suspects (Porsches) letting it down.
Oh well, I'm sure we all needed a break at that point eh? I'm not sure what can be done about that area of track, as i think the last time this came up (was it after that unfortunate Clio fatality in the mid 00's? ) it was revealed that the circuit doesn't actually own that land over the far side of the track and the people who do own it are resistant to any changes. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure I read that on this forum so would like to know the whole story myself please |
