Are we Bored
Are we getting Bored with Touring Cars? It just seems that the V8 forum is slowing down at the moment and I was wondering weather it was a sign of being bored with Touring Cars at the moment. Just a thought, What do you think?????

When only one team wins and there is very little passing, the answer is yes. Take the wings of, give them some hard compound tyres, and watch the action start.

It's funny, there is a similar deal with the CART- a fair bit of chat, but very little of it concerning what goes on the track... perhaps we should throw rocks at the HRT cars, or put some sugar in their gas tanks in the enduros to make it interesting again?

Ive got a about 100 bricks stacked up in my back yard, i might have to load them in the boot and take them up to the mount. We can chuck them at TWR cars .
It is definately getting very boring though. During the winton telecast my wife said she wanted to go for a walk as it was a nice afternoon and i actually went with her. I never used to leave the lounge, let alonre the house during a touring car telecast. But now i relly couldnt care less. |

The only way to watch a telecast is on tape so you can watch the start, fast forward to the pitstops and then see who won.

Bring on the weight penalty I say, at least the races would be more interesting.

If we throw rocks at HRT (instead of them throwing cars at me, which would be nice for a change), won't the country and Ford get behind them and pay some money so they can race next year? Whoops, sorry wrong rock.

It is possible for racing to get stall, for the last few years we had seen the same thing year after year HRT dominatiing at Adelaide and cruising in the enduros to the championship win.
I do realy think the punters are tired of the same old stuff and really couldn't care if M Skaife racks up another championship. |

At least last year, when HRT dominated, they didn't win absolutely everything... other cars were at least a chance in the race...

I wouldn't really care if HRT was winning and there was good racing throughout the field.....but there isn't, well not that we see on TV anyway...

I'm not bored. And before anyone suggests I must be HRT's #1 fan, I'm not. I just enjoy more than just the racing (and I have the bikes to keep the racing side of me happy).

I would rather sit and watch Nascar these days. I cant wait to get the tape of each weeks races off a mate who tapes them for me (thanks Monaro). If anyone saw the races from Bristol last week you would know what i mean. Thats racin.

But imagine Gordon's move for the lead in a V8 race? He would have been black flagged three times over!
Great race though |

Good onya Flaggie the true spirit of the sport, as opposed to the Tony Cochrane Money Making Machine.
We should all turn our backs and go watch club racing. No, I am not joking. Just get them to televise it so those of us outside a Capital City can watch too. |

The thing is, if people just wanted to see top racing, great cars that aren't all the same, and want action from 8 in the morning until it's dark, then they'd go and watch club racing. Problem is, Skaifey, The Enforcer and Little Dick aren't racing

But plenty of guys who are just as/if not more approachable and friendly are. Guys and Gals that are just like the rest of us, because they are the rest of us.
