MotoGP predictions 2003

This season promises to be a great year of racing, but there's still AGES (too long) until the season gets underway.

In the mean time, does anyone care to make any predictions for the championship this year? We can look back in November and see who was on the mark.

MotoGP:

1. Rossi (but this will be a lot tougher. hopefully will go down to the wire)
2. Biaggi
3. Kato
4. Ukawa
5. Checa
6. Barros

I'm not so sure about the 250 and 125s, but I'll go with Elias and Pedrosa for the titles in their respective classes.

Over to you...

I think Stoner will win a race(s) in the 125s, but a full championship challenge will come next year.. if he remains in the 125cc category.

I think Kawasaki will be good enough to score a couple of podiums at the most. They will mostly be mid-pack with Suzuki. Expect Honda to take the most wins, followed by Yamaha and I expect Ducati to win during the season as well.

I'm no expert, but won't Barros be the man to challenge Rossi this season?

Barros was a great challenge on the Honda. Barros has a Yamaha at his disposal this year, and although I think he'll be very competitive, Rossi's competition will come mainly from Honda riders... that's just my humble opinion.

That's a big call Chris. If Ducati can claim the MotoGP title in their first season, it would be one of the greatest achievements in motorsport history.

IMO Ducati will be on the pace almost straight away, and I expect Loris to lead the charge early on, but Bayliss is a talented rider and I think by mid-season should at least be equal, if not ahead, of Loris.

But, again IMO, Ducati won't be launching a full raid on the title until next season. This year will be a platform for a championship assault in 2004.

I still think that the only Honda's that Honda will allow to win the championship will be Rossi or Hayden. By allow i mean they will be given all the best bits etc....i can't see them allowing one of the semi-works teams to beat the factory team out-right. Remember Biaggi in 1998.

Rossi will do it easily. Be Honda's all around him though, maybe with Barros thrown in.
