New Marshal - starting out

Hi all,

I'm just starting out as a marshal and have sent my form off to the BMMC, now i need to know whats the next step forward. as im semi-new to marshaling i would apreciate any help along the way...

Also wish goodluck to the marshals who are going to alderney in the next couple of weeks for the hillclimb / sprint it sounds a lot of fun.

just go learn and enjoy, try track racing, hillclimbs, bikes give it all a go. you will meet some great people who can become life long friends and have a real hoot.

though save your money for beer and petrol and dont bother joining any clubs some will disagree with that bit though i have yet to be convinced that there is any benefit and have managed for many years.

just make sure you watch your back and stay safe

Alfa,

Welcome, I found myself asking the same questions a year ago. Youve started in the best place, you will find a lot of experienced marshalls with lots of advise and information in this forum. I joined a club and got into it that way, with regular meetings each week it was a social thing too. Im also a memebr of the BMMC and you will find they will keep you informed of whats on and where it is. Depending on where you are in the UK you are more than welcome to tag along with me to any events. As "SSS" said "just make sure you watch your back and stay safe" and most important enjoy it.

Regards

Simon.

Hi alfa_centuri

I'm not sure which circuits are close to you. But why not get in contact with you local motor club and see what events they do?
