CombeMarshal should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
DTM at Zandvort

I hate to be one to complain, but I think the two Marshal laying down watching the race last weekend really need to watch the Porsche incident at Thurxton, I couldn't believe what I was seeing!

sorry, don't know what turn it was, don't know the circuit, the mind boggles some times!

Complain if there's a need to do so, but please explain what you're talking about.

Yep, DTM were at Oschersleben.

Without more detail, it's impossible to know what's being referred to, unfortunately. I'm often surprised at marshalling I see on tv, but I temper it with the fact that I don't know what level of instruction or experience the marshal may have had, or whether there are particular factors I don't know about the incident or location and so it's necessary to be either very precise about the detail or very open to the unknowns.

sorry, Wtcc, watched to much on tv over the last few days
anyway, regardless, there was a double layer armco that had a bank behind it level with the top of the Armco, these two marshals thought that it was a suitable place to lay on there front and 'watch' the race
wouldn't have happened anywhere near me

Dutch chap, Marshals laying down while cars are on track really doesn't need explaining!

If there is a problem with lack of training why not mix experienced with new?

OK, at least now I know what circuit and wich race you're talking about and of course you're right.

Must say I'm not surprised. There is indeed a lack of training. Very few (just about 10 of them) marshals at Zandvoort nowadays know how to act while on duty. The level is very poor and can't be compared to the level of, let's say, 10 years ago. There aren't any signs that this will improve, simply because "the powers that be" haven't got a clue that anything is wrong.
