The car has three drivers... I believe it is a team effort.

Congratulations to Mark and the whole team.
With that kind of promising performance, he could well get into Formula 1 in the near future. Webber to Renault? |

Well done to Mr Webber for finally winning a world title. Just reward for a hard grafting career and being a top bloke to boot

I believe he would have been #3
Who was #1 in the team anyway? The WEC website does a sh1t job of telling you who actually does the quali laps but I would think the qualifying drivers would normally be the 2 main drivers. I think that was Timo and Brendon at Bahrain. Who was usually faster? Last edited by Razzzor; 24 Nov 2015 at 04:32. |

You guys are funny!
Congrats to Mark and the team - a real team effort, working together for the same cause. Just like the early RB days. (80% of the way through MW's autobiography - very interesting reading, confirming to me who the biggest problem at RB was, before they got too big and went political) |

Quote:
They alternated qualifying duties between their drivers: in Bahrain it was Bernhard & Hartley, in Shanghai it was Hartley & Webber, at Fuji it was Webber & Bernhard etc ... -- It is a team effort. All drivers made mistakes at some point during the season. It is very hard to compare drivers during a race: if you do the 3rd stint do you have to push, or do you have to control the race because you already have a nice lead. Are the track and weather conditions the same as during the first stint? And what about the car? Impossible to tell who did 'the better job' based on laps times alone. IMO Hartley is the fastest in the #17 car (but he also made the mistake that cost gave them the penalty at Le Mans, and drove through the marshal post - at Spa I think that was) Similarly, Webber and Bernhard also made mistakes. I think *the* fastest man in a Porsche 919 was Neel Jani, but then again they didn't win until the very last race. Last edited by gert; 24 Nov 2015 at 11:27. |

So he did it in his second year congrats.
At last he wins something worthy of his undoubted ability and may help him forget blowing the F1 title in Korea in 2010! |

Is this the right place to start a Renault to the WEC thread?

Been out of the loop for the last week or so, so almost missed this. Congrats to Mark Webber.
