The only factory teams will be Graves Yamaha and Yoshimura Suzuki. Graves will run sportbike and superbike, but Yosh will only run superbike.

The series is now hovering just about club racing status in my opinion.

Roger is gone. David Atlas, a friend of mine, is now in charge. Look for the series to improve drastically.

David will be doing an interview with John Ulrich regarding the series very soon. I'd wait to see exactly what he has to say.

Is Team Hammer the same as the RoadracingWorld team, or different?

Apparently, John Hopkins will be testing a superbike for M4 Suzuki at Fontana.
It's too bad, he certainly is fast enough for GP, but he has a nasty habit of breaking something everytime he falls off. WSBK must not be calling either. So back to AMA... |

I wonder if Graves will just be running one bike in superbike?

Hopkins will be riding for Ulrich this year. Should be interesting, to say the least. With the rules the way they are, and no one gets trick parts, look for him to win a race or two, maybe even the championship.

A few updates. Taylor Knapp will run an ex-Mladin Yosh superbike in 2010 with full sponsorship from Ridersdiscount. Knapp has been a quick privateer and this is a good move for him.
Jordan Motorsports will run Suzuki bikes again in superbike with Yates and new to the team Jake Zemke. Nice to see Zemke back on a superbike. Still have not heard if anyone has been announced for a second Graves bike. |

The grid is still pretty sparse, but superbike looks something like this so far:
Josh Hayes - Graves Yamaha Ben Bostrom - Pat Clark Yamaha (bike from Graves) Chris Clark - Pat Clark Yamaha (bike from Graves) Tommy Hayden - Yoshimura Suzuki Blake Young - Yoshimura Suzuki Aaron Yates - Jordan Suzuki Jake Zemki - Jordan Suzuki Taylor Knapp - Ridersdiscount Suzuki ('09 Yoshimura bike) John Hopkins - M4 Suzuki Chris Ulrich - Roadracing World Larry Pegram - Foremost Ducati I watched a webcast from the AMA test yesterday. I guess Aprilia are still trying to do a deal (maybe KWS?) BMW have abandoned talks. Don't see KTM coming either. And no fulltime Honda or Kawi bikes so far. Maybe some other privateer entries and one off appearances. I know Jeff Tigert will run his Honda at Daytona. The problem is the purse for superbike is very low. It gives little incentive for anyone with a small budget to run. We could likely see grid sizes in the 12 to 16 range. |

That's why I don't see more than 16 full time entrants with the rest being local or regional field fillers. If I recall correctly, they're only going to pay out for the top three weekend finishers. That makes it pretty tough for privateers.
