Well, I guess I'm not the only one who's read "Dune" on here.

If results are any indication, the tire differential is much less apparent in GT2 than in GT1 or LMP1; the Ferraris are all fairly close in the ALMS, and the Panoz came 3rd at St. Petersburg running Yokohamas.

Several Years ago when Team Covette switched from Good Year to the Mich it was worth 2-3 secs a lap at LM, and 1 1/2 to 2 secs at Road Atlanta and Sebring.

Plus the Mich tires could be double stinted over the Good Years.

Now several years latter the Mich tires are even better. Dunlap as also made great strides in imporvements

In fact many GT2 teams at LMS were disappointed that Michelin was not delivering to the class in 2007. I think it is a good indication of what teams prefer...

Plus Michelin does not GIVE tires to teams. IIRC every team purchases tires from Michelin.

Where as some other tire manufactures sponsor / partner with teams. So these teams get the tires are huge reduced or at no cost.

Yes, you are less likely to complain about a tyre is you aren't paying for it!

I've just paid for two for my car - and I sure as hell complained......

(I complained even more when my lad borrowed my car and graunched one of the alloys so bad it's now unusuable....... )
