Trouble at Jaguar
Does anyone think Mr. Lauda may suffer the same fate as Mr. Rahal over the problems at Jaguar?
Just a light-hearted poll just to gauge everyone's opinion. |

Look at that, 100% of respondents think he's a goner...!
I can't see that his habit of rubbing peole the wrong way will see him through the hard times. But he ran an airline so you never know..... |

I think he "should" be fired. Jaguar should have kept Rahal and fired Irvine and Lauda...But what do I know

They have to stick to one .....
Well they should have stuck to the first plan they made, and that was the 3 year plan that Rahal had in mind.
Now they have Lauda's 3 year plan, they better stick to it and stop scambling things up every few months.....no stability what so ever in that team. Now that they will finaly have their wind tunnel, they better bucle down for the long haul. Replace the key personel they lost, find the personel they are missing and use the advantage they have to get out of the dumpers. If they get rid of Lauda, it will destabilize the team once more and you can forget about the waves of green that they wanted. The big cat has no claws right now..... |

Under Rahal, Jaguar were making slow, but steady progress. Rahal had a good plan, was recruiting some good staff (although the Newey thing fell through...) and on-track performances were getting better.
Under Lauda, there have been numerous personnel changes, no-one is confident in their job and the performances have got steadily worse. Jaguar need to sack Lauda and bring in someone who can actually run a Formula One team. |

.......his pants around his ankles... And I always was a big Lauda fan, but they really blew it by sticking him in there and interferring with Rahal. As far as im Concerned they had the right man in place, Rahal. Well Reisler and Lauda wanted it, they got it....Lauda will keep his position for this year and next year.....but if they havent made a big leap in performance...he will be sacked then. |

Lauda needs to go ASAP and be replaced by someone who know's what they are doing.
Why does a multi billion dollar company like Ford have someone with no management skills whatsoever, presiding over millions of their dollars invested in this shambles? Ironically if NL applied for a middle management job with Ford he wouldn't even get an interview as he has NO experience, even his own airline business went virtually bust! Lauda is doing a Prost - yet with Ford's cash. Surely the biggest facer of the week must have been that the R2 was still slower than the R3 but by only .5 of a second. This leaves Jag with nowhere to go with the R3. Remember they have already changed the front wing, floor, diffuser and rear suspension of the car to no effect, which means a quick fix to the R3 is not happening. Ford need to be lining up some people with 'proper' motorsport team management experience. My nomination - I'd wander down the paddock and talk to David Sear's of Super Nova. There's a guy with multi F3000 championship wins - who has also managed Montoya - he's know's how to run a team. |
