Has anyone heard that Kanga Loaders are going to step up to the main game, with McDonald as the driver?

Who is driving the SER AU in the Konica race? |

Gary MacDonald had entered a customer type relationship with SER for Bathurst 2004 (25 lapper) & the 2005 Konica series, in that the SER boys will still do all the preparation of the car and maintain it, but it will run in Kanga Loaders livery with Gary as driver.

As I understand it, Level One licences have been split so that now one licence entitles one entry.
For example, previously a Level One franchise let you enter two cars or, as we saw in some cases, three cars under the one franchise. By the same token, some Level One franchises were only running single cars - eg. BJR and Larko. Then TEGA had a bit of a rehash of things, for the better. What happened was that the Level One franchises were split so that a former Level One franchise now gives two single-car Level One franchises. This is how the Noske/WPS/Lansvale/Tasman franchise lease deal came to be in that Noske/WPS were able to lease one of the Lansvale/Tasman Level One licences. Hope this helps. |

LP to sell L1 to Gory, in trade for his L2
LP cashing in, as L1's have been worth 800K to 2.5M in the last few years the latter having been paid in recent times for a L1, and the former only buys a L2 now. Maybe he see a price crash coming  |

The Perkins thing is said to be slightly more convoluted than that described however... if indeed it ultimately proves correct....
And timing is not confirmed... if it has happened right now, then WPS 3 cars entered for Bathurst... and LP has 4 cars, 8 pilots and only space for 3 vehicles.... Which does nothing to establish the 2005 deal.... Mr Nash has apparently been offered a motza for his L2, while Mr Tratt is not likely to be a customer next year... ... so from this view Mr Perkins can run a single car of his own entry... where does it leave the rest of them? Or.. lets play this for a second... is the Ford branding on the WPS cars a bluff... and are WPS sponsoring Perkins-run equipment next season????? |

What about Gore has LP's L1, LP has Gore's L2, and runs that with Richo and runs Davo in Nash's L2.
Of course this would all take place next year, if indeed it is true. |

I have now been led to believe the transaction occurred earlier this week, well the sale of the L1's to the WPS empire anyway.
What would have been logical perhaps would have been for WPS to buy the asset of the franchises and lease them back to Perkins for the customers to use.... |

Yes its a very interesting situation, got me wondering why LP has sold his franchise. It all depends whether you classify a franchise as an asset or a liability.
Asset: Seems to be worth a large some money. Able to race in fastest growing sport i naustralia, V8Supercar. Liability: If you dont show at a race you get a hefty $200k+ fine. As JFA/PWR have found out, perhaps this case has indeed brought the value for franchises down and prompted LP to sell? |

If LP has sold it he can lease it back and claim the expenses incurred for leasing it (I think better accountants come on down) and this could be the better way to reduce GST and other things.

Larry was talking about selling his Level 1 franchise after it was deemed that testing his 4 cars at once uses up 3 test days. Supposedly by selling the Franchise and leasing back it gets around that situation???
