Bloody hell, is this team managing by committee or what?
Ron Dennis has probably done them a favour in the end - hopefully Pizzonia will now be highly motivated to show that he deserves the seat - but what melodrama. Surely this isn't the way Ford ordinarily conducts business - so why is the race team so out of control? |

Good. Now let's get over it and re-evaluate at the end of the season.

It's good news, but I don't think any of this will have helped Pizzonia

I don't find this surprising. I think most of the news was just typical media sensationalism.
I say - he was offered a contract to race, let him get on with it now. |

No, I am led to believe that there were serious discussions going on with people other than Alexander Wurz to take the seat.... it didnt work in the end because the redtape factory got out of control, and nobody would make a positive decision
The way Jag did this is almost a TW way of doing things |

Seeing Pizzonia in F3000 last year, I thought here's a feisty driver with a willingness to race hard. Upon further review I am seeing more a driver who gets behind in his application of driver input. Hearing his interview after being knocked out of Spain, it almost sounded if he was going to cry; quivering voice and all that. If he is going to stay i hope he can buckle down/settle down and stop overdriving the car. I still would have prefered Wurz in that seat, but I guess there is always next year.

Of course, it may have helped to motivate him. He now knows that it won't take a lot for them to find someone else - so he's likely to perform better!

At last - a half decent management decision from the Jaguar team.

if Team Kitty Cat didn't have all those redundancies to pay out (Lauda et al) they might have had the 1.1 mill.
Did they think Dennis was going to do them a favour? |

It is unreasonable to expect a rookie to be at pace so quickly. He's obviously got some speed so the question becomes why is he not able to use it? The team should be looking at what they can do to facilitate this process rather than threatening to can him. HHF ring a bell?

Gehard Berger rates him highly but that is based soley on running around a track by himself, Obviously Willimas should never call on Bergers ability to spot new talent

Gerhard Berger?
Pfft! What would he know? He showed by ruining Benetton that his opinions aren't worth much. |
