Tecno TOO295
Can anyone shed some light on a tecno chassis I have recently aquired with the chassis number stamped on it TOO295 I believe it spend some time in america judging by the scca stickers still on the bodywork and the chassis has all the extra strenghening on it the same as the formula 2 cars ran. If anybody could help with this it would be greatly appreciated??

With that chassis stamping it should be a 1968 build, but might not have been imported to America immediately. The extra strengthening suggests it ran FB at some point in its history and certainly there were two Tecnos running FB for Skip Barber and Skeeter McKitterick by the end of 1968. Whereabouts are you in the world and from whom did you acquire the car? What colour is the bodywork and can you sand down an area of it to give a succession of paint colours back to the gelcoat. Also, are the SCCA stickers just generic, or are there any technical stickers in whole or part still on the car that might give a date/place it raced? Chris |
