I'll will be there snapping away as usual. Looks like some of the classes are a bit low on numbers this year (a common trend throughout motorsport in NZ) but that's made up by the fact there are three Formula One cars!

Edit (from another thread) Hampton Downs - Ferrari Festival 16-18 Jan 14 http://www.hamptondowns.com/pages/56/eventscalendar.htm PS the Tipo 156s have a nice low growl....possibly because they have been detuned for longevity Last edited by 275 GTB-4; 15 Jan 2014 at 22:59. |

To see the 1994 Ferrari screaming full tilt is something that has to been seen! Not sure how the turbos will sound as I havnt seen them in action, but can tell you the 3.5l V12 is bliss!
Would highly recommend heading along for a look, even if you are not that big on Ferrari's! |

Will be disappointing if they've been de-tuned/geared to the point where they are not quicker than an F5000. I know F5000's are not slow by any means, but an F1 car should be a lot quicker.

Check My laps. Its all there. The outright lap record was broken again by the kid. 59.4 ish I think. Watching him 'hot dog'* it repeatedly out of the hairpin was something else. *Hot dog = oversteer wheel spin from a Lola T400 in 2nd gear exiting a corner. Brilliant. |

The old Boy also did a 59.4 in qualifying, and was also fatting it it off the hairpin but going foward with superior throttle control than the "kid". It begs the question does it not, how good is the "kid" if he and all his Dad's mega-money cant beat a 71 year old? |
