Renault Launch
Just thought I'd start the thread for the Renault launch today. Does anyone know what time the launch will start in Melbourne, Sydney?? It's says on the Renault website that it's 12pm CET but I don't know how to compare it with our time.

Speaking ahead of the team's launch, Renault F1 boss Flavio Briatore aims that hise team will be serious challengers for the World Championship this year.

I would say he's a year too early for prediction, especially when Webber arrives.

I don't think that is such a funny thing to say - he doesn't claim that they will definitely win it - merely that they will be challenging with the big three. It might be ugly, to me at least, but the new car looks pretty tidy performance-wise, and their drivers are pretty much as good as anyone's.

It will be interesting to see if the livery is much different, you would think it will look a bit different otherwise why bother having a launch when we've already seen the R24. I'm hoping for a drastic change in the livery but that's wishful thinking.

I'm not "areo" god or anything but it looks like a very "dirty " (airflow) car to me . mainly the top of the sidepods

Looks to me more like they are going to use the airflow created by the sidepods to cool the transmission and create more downforce over the rear axel. For a circuit that requires high downforce could work well.

And long may our guesses continue as they go well with the amateur drivers, engineers, accountants, journalists and team principles guesses!

Come on guys, at least it's original. I'm tired of the same old shape just getting a little nip-tuck every year. The Renault might not be as inovative as the Willaims or as sleek as the Ferrari this year, but it doesn't look like the rest of them and I like that. It makes me beleive that there is value in not sharing parts between teams. If all the parts were the same it wouldn't make a differance who made them. I like this car. I love the colours. I don't have a clue how they're going to make it work.

I must be the only person who loves the look of the new Renault, it's different yeah but I think it looks a lot nicer than the R23. Each to there own I suppose but I've seen a lot worse than that design.

Further to what I said before from front on the car looks very clean. Overall a very impresive package. Its growing on me but I'll give it this much it looks a hell of lot more practical then the clones but can it beat them.We will have to wait and see.
