Dont forget, although not relevant to this thread, this weekend also sees the F2 cars racing. There are three full days of track action to enjoy.

At least there's no beach football on this week. *** For a dire year, this season has proven that the WTCC can still stand on it's own two feet somewhat, I have to say. Also the more international line up of drivers shows how far the series is spreading. I just hope most of the rumours about next year are true. |

Looking at the pictures on the WTCC website, the BMWs of Priaulx, Farfus, Engstler and Benanni (as well as Poulsen and Turkington) appear to have the older aero kit on - without the vents on the bonnets and the old style rear light arrangements. Tim Coronel, and the two Proteam cars have the newer look bits on their cars, which seems odd.

No wonder Weichers and Bennani changed to their old car (the yellow one). So, a world championship where you get a better chance of winning/finnishing higher up by using an older car? Great... |

the difference just because Factlifted model of 320si (RBM,Proteam and Engslter) are and older E90 is in different base on compensation weight calculation....if factory team hasn't change the car you won't get advantage on older model |

Common sense prevails!
Sorry BMW just because everyone else has 40kgs, does not mean you can be different. |

If they alowed to reduce weight that will destroyed the championship:would they go back to updated kit after it dropped weights from compensation weight timing? |

Priaulx/Farfus ran the older aerokit car in FP1 but switched back to the newer version of FP2 when the FIA threw out their application to change cars. The regs say that a manufacturer team can not revert to an older model once they have raced a newer homologation.
It's all a bit of a nonsense anyhow. The ballast weights are decided based on the WTCC's complicated formula of taken the fastest two speeds from each model over all sessions from the last 3 meetings. The older spec BMW are on less weight because they are cars used by the slower teams. If the works team used the older spec then the fastest times would go up and in either 3 meetings time (or less if/when they won a race) the older cars would be max ballast as well. |

The sooner these ludicras rules are changed the better. The WTCC is the only championship I can think of where this sort of thing happens...(apart from perhaps the STCC too).

got pen news for this. Priaulx decide to change engines therefore go down 10 places and Poulsen will start last due to parc ferme rule breach.

Good race overall, action up and down the field.
Not sure about Priaulx's pass on that SEAT at Graham Hill, I have a feeling he might get a penalty for that, though I have seen worse go unpunished (Tarquini @ Oscherslaben for example). |

just been told that we might have to wait on a Menu fia checking after he went down to 7 place on the last lap and this means we have to wait for both results.
