A well known creditcard company has announced the five finalist for the 'Priceless moment' of the 2000 Formula One season.
The five finalists are: 1). Schumacher and Hakkinen's qualifying duel for the pole in Japan. 2(. Rubens Barrichello's victory in Germany, the first of his F1 career. 3). Schumacher's victory and emotional post-race press conference in Italy. 4). Hakkinen's thrilling passing move at Spa. 5). Schumacher's win at Suzuka which clinched the Championship for him and Ferrari. Which one would you pick, or do you have a personal 'priceless moment'? |

Here's mine-
I can't recall which GP it was: there was a camera shot of Alain Prost on the pit wall, behind him one of his cars was pitting and the stop was flubbed. He was shaking his head in the 'what next' manner and the look on his face was a perfect summary of the team's season to that point. For on track moments, no. 4 |

No. 4 is something that should be happening a lot more in Formula One, so I would not consider that so special.
For me it is Rubens first win. From 18th on the grid, and through the wet on slicks! |

Has to be Rubinho's win. Nobody cares about TGF and Mika anymore.
For reaction shot of 2000, I would choose the look on Eddie Jordan's face when Frenzy hit the wall in Monaco. I believe there was an Autosport cartoon the next week showing Eddie chasing Frenzy round the course, thumping him all the way. He deserved it. |

MOST Priceless moment from this list would be number 5) the moment when Ferrari sealed their first WDC in 21 years. We know when the rain started that this would happen, but the second which MS passes the line is simply magical, especially when u think of Ferrari's glory days and the emotions of all those who made it work....its the most significant thing that happened this season.
Why not 4? Because Mika's move on Michael in Spa was just like a normal overtaking move from the inside into a corner...with the exception of having a car in between them. The car is a backmarker who is slow, and it would be truly impressive only if Mika had overtaken 2 cars the manner when ALL 3 were fighting for positions instead. Daring, impressive it sure is...and before u pple tell me what ricardo had said and everything...this is my opinion, okay? =P i thot Michael's move on DC in US and DC move on Michael in France was as good... Why not 3? Michael wins too many races....hehh..makes it not THAT significant anymore, and that his crying is shocking and plesantly surprising...but not priceless. Why not 2? Rubens win is very very memorable, especially in the conditions he raced in, but its not enough to math any of the other moments like 1, 4 and 5..... Why not 1? ......hmmm..... BUT certainly, all 5 are pretty memorable moments of this season....and if i could add one of my own...how about Minardi running in the top4 and holding Hakkinen back for 3+ laps....impressive stuffs..... |

Well out of those, I would say number 2 or number 3. But for a personal moment, I would probably say Mazzacane actually having the right to race Hakkinen at Indianapolis. That was hilarious, especially Murray Walker's demands for blue flags.

...For me it would have 2 be... 3). Schumacher's victory and emotional post-race press conference in Italy., The reason for this (and i do like Michael) is i allways suspected michael 2 be a one of prodotype robot incapible of emotions well on track anyway. it was a bit like the feelin i got watchin mika break down and cry...ok it was a bit different i laughed then but you git the point.. Best WTP. |

I have another, maybe not the best, but certainly a hillarious moment: the 2 Prost cars running eachother of track after Alesi tried to overtake Heidfeld(or was it the other way round??)

My wife and I were jumping up and down yelling for Mika to pass TGF at Spa and let out loud whoops when he did-(much to my son's disgust)
However, I found the Monza press-conference compelling. It was a rare glimpse of the man inside the public personna. |

Pah! I can’t believe that Schumacher did not “have a onion in his hankie” at Monza! I would have loved to believe it was sincere but I just feel it was another one of his tricks.
I have noticed that all these moments came in there latter half of the season. A touch of Formula One has got a short memory syndrome methinks. I think Coulthard's race at Mangy Cours should be put there, two “real” overtaking manoeuvres, possibility that it will be the best race of his carer and to cap it all off he gave Schumacher the finger! |

I totally agree, how many GP last year were edged of the seat stuff for we punters? The French certainly was. |

No 4 was magic. Coulthard's 'finger' incident and the controversy afterwards made me giggle.

It has to be Mazzacane running in third at Indianapolis.
Other than that, I agree with Alain and Eddie's faces at their respective 'hilarious' team moments... |
