Sebastien Loeb to Oreca for Petit?
I'm starting to think that Sebastien Loeb will be third driver in the Oreca at Petit Lemans. Oreca said there was the possibility of a driver with prototype experience to join the team. And loeb said he's not going to be in the peugeot

i certainly have not heard anything about Loeb racing at Petit, if he did i would be very surprised. |

Loeb has said that he is unlikely to race at Petit, but was on for Shanghai before it was cancelled:

Indeed that's a big surprise... again a Porsche works driver switched the brand... joining Oreca at PLM will help the team strongly. Dumas have tons of experience in ALMS and PLM... good stuff.

That one came out of left field.
Would that suggest the DP Porsche Penske programme is maybe not continuing in 2010? |

Honestly, the answer would be to 1) win the 24h at Daytona and 2) to keep the team's sportscar legs fresh for a return to the ALMS. If a return to the ALMS is not in the cards for Penske, they will not have a sportscar team.
Also, don't forget, if Porsche are pulling their support from Grand-Am, Penske may remain, even with Porsche power, but Bernhard and Dumas will not. Penske would have to hire drivers to race for him. (RHR and Will Power perhaps?) Maybe that situation would make the economics of ALMS racing look better, especially if Porsche (or Audi) support is available. Chris |

i doubt they will stay in DPs if Porsche goes...i could be wrong. from what i gather, Roger won't do much without someone else's support, i.e. Porsche. the DP program has been an utter disappointment, IMO, and if the car doesn't improve, they won't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning the 24. |
