2023 IMSA SportsCar Weekend Road America
First practice from Road America is live. It will be interesting to watch how the new track surface impacts lap times over the weekend.
There is also a chance of precipitation on Sunday for the race |

Sounds like a typical Road America crash fest already….
Hard to tell from the report but doesn’t sound good for the #78 Lambo. |

Yes it's not a place where you can get away with many mistakes. Let's hope it calms down a bit and the #78 can be repaired, as that would be a shame if it ends the meeting for them

Down to 1:47.9 in FP2, that's about a second away from the absolute prototype track record set in 2008 in Audi's R10 TDI. 1:46.935 is the time to beat but I have my doubts if they can go that fast in qualifying. No idea how repaved track compares to 2008 conditions but laptimes are impressive already. |

GT times falling hit and fast this afternoon, already to 2:02s for Pro Riberas and Juncedella, Snow would be 3rd

GTD qualifying is on, 2:02.9 which is about 3 seconds slower than GTE times

23, 79 in a 2:02, Vette just over 03, Heart of Racing on pole again.
And Madison takes the 1 to pole, just slower than Taylor, Iribe and Montecalvo finish out top 3 GTDs |

Pushed a bit too hard but we gotta appreciate that young man's effort, almost 1 second ahead of 2nd place in P3.

Braun in for new paving qualifying, could be interesting. But the Caddys appear to be the front runners for pole
Was the 60 penalized for something, getting held for a lap by the team. And both RLLs coming back in |

Derani scooting and sounds like after his 47.7 he's still pushing on the next lap too

Track getting FAST, Campbell only hundredths on Derani, only 2 in 47s. No one owns all the sector after Derani did for most of the session

Wow, 31 just scrubbed new tires only on 1 lap out and came in with a lap left on the clock. Think Bourdais was closest to taking it and he pitted so he's likely safe. Campbell went wide at 1 so his last lap would be tossed anyway
Derani barely keeps it ahead of the 7. Only Caddys are close, rest of the cars have one much faster than the others |

Braun caught up later and somehow I missed his quickest second to last lap in there watching it. He took a minute to warm up turning over 50s multiple laps but so did Bourdais

Qualifying was fun - glad it stayed clean too.
Another big crash right now, this time for John Capestro-Dubets in the first Lamborghini race. |
