Here is some video footage and a short write up of Redbrick Racing performing some tests on Yokohama A050 Tires that they plan to run on in Australia... lap times were around 1.40

Any word on the Fernandez Motorsport Falcon Ute this year? I've been trying to find information on whether or not it's going to be competing this year and I've had no luck.
Hopefully we will see more teams from different countries enter this year. Redbrick is a start, but there's a few crazy beasts on the continent I'd love to see. |

Aa far as uk teams go, I wouldn't mind seeing this carbon bodied elise http://speedhunters.com/archive/2010...tus-elise.aspx and Roger Clark's monsters would be great to watch as well... same goes for the US teams if they ever allow full slicks I'm sure teams like FXMD and GST would be more inclined to participate however there are still other great competitors yet to be officially announced like Project Nemo Racing |

Nemo Racing reported that the along with their own Evo, the Tilton Interiors Evo, Red Brick Racing Evo and will be competing in Australia this summer... they also hinted that considering how the Cyber Evo came out of retirement to comlete in 2011, there is a chance they may return yet again in 2012

With Cyber Evo returning they would have to be favorites to repeat this year to make it three in a row... hopefully this time with Cosworth power
Some interesting news that Taniguchi will be driving for team Top Fuel... maybe he can challenge Yamada for that top spot |

Looks like the Top Fuel S2000 has bumped their power up to 712ps while the RE Amemiya Hurricane is busy attempting to adapt many of it's Super GT parts to the RX7... the Cyber Evo appears to have switched to a Haltech ECU and now puts out 706 hp

before last years competition Mark Berry's E85 fueled R34 had gained 80 kg (176lbs) but was still able to go 2.2s fast mainly due to aero developments...
In 2010 1.34:109 7th place at Eastern Creek In 2011 1.31:905 6th place at Eastern Creek for this year they have found an extra 70 kw to bring their horsepower back up to around 800hp with a new turbo from Precision in place of the EFR unit http://www.worldtimeattack.com/index...r-up-for-2012/ Engine: Approx 750hp RB30 Bottom End with Custom Crank Girdle Pauter Conrods CP Pistons RB26 Head with extensive Head Work High Lift Cam 280 Degree Duration 11.5mm lift Hi Octane Racing Dry Sump Setup Hypertune Inlet Manifold Twin handmade ball-bearing Garrett turbochargers Custom Radiator & Cooling Setup Turbosmart Blow Off Valve and fuel regulator ARC Intercooler (available from The Tuners Group) Electronics: Autronic ECU CDI Ignition Logging Dash Driveline: Hollinger 6 Speed Sequential Carbon Drive Shaft Cusco Diffs Custom 4WD Torque Split controller Works Bell Paddle Shifter NEO Universal (available from The Tuners Group) Suspension: Pro-flex Coilovers All custom handmade fabricated A arms Modded Stub Axles Brakes: Pedal Box Bias Adjuster Alcon Monobloc V8 Supercar Brakes 365mm Front 345mm Rear Wheels and Tyres: ADVAN Racing RS 18 x 10 (+25 offset) ADVAN A050 R-spec tyres 265/35R18 Interior: Full Chrome Moly Cage Carbon Dash Works Bell Short Boss (available from The Tuners Group) Works Bell Paddle Shifter NEO Universal (available from The Tuners Group) Exterior: Fully Seam Welded Carbon Doors Carbon Boot Carbon Bonnet Carbon Kagotani Front Bar Carbon Sunline Front Guards Carbon Sunline Side Skirts Carbon Sunline Rear Guards DJ Engineering Rear Wing (available from The Tuners Group) meanwhile also in Australia project Nemo has completed the car and the weight is under 1000 kg and the power is very close to 1000 giving it a power to weight ratio of 1:1 http://www.nemo-racing.com/the-beginning |

Nob Taniguchi will be attending this year's time attack as the driver for both the Top Fuel S2000 and the RE Amemiya Hurrican 7... he set the Team Top Fuel's fastest time around Tsukuba and he has prior experience with RE Amemiya during his time in Super GT and should have no problem jumping into the Hurrican 7 car which is said to have many parts adapted from the Super GT car
interestingly when Cyber Evo split with voltex and unlimited works, they went on to work with Team Top Fuel while Garage HRS and C-West have filled their places on the Cyber Evo expected to return this summer once he gets acclimated to the track layout he should be able to set some decent lap times... he remains confident he can come away with the fastest time for a RWD car but with serious competition like the Cyber Evo, Team American and Nemo you would expect all three of them to beat the RWD cars to the podium Taniguchi in HKS CT230R http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDRWL...eature=related Taniguchi in Top Fuel S2000 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tv3onMzYSNs Official Press Release from WTAC website http://www.worldtimeattack.com/index...d-time-attack/ Taniguchi's record at Tsukuba in the HKS CT230R still stands today but in all likelihood with good weather, and clear traffic Under Suzuki, Cyber Evo or Garage Revolution should be able to surpass it now Panspeed, Cyber Evo, Nemo and Team America have yet to be officially announced but pictures of their builds can be found on various websites |

To think they got as far as they did without major engine tuning and data acquisition, with haltech on board they'll certainly be able to dip into the 1.28's at Eastern Creek this year... can't wait to see what aero developments CWest has been working on

The way the time attack cars' time keep on dropping they will be closing in on Formula 3 lap times pretty soon
http://www.worldtimeattack.com/index...k-lap-records/ Also if you look on the website to buy tickets you'll see this message: https://foxtix.com.au/online/default...essionlanguage Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge: From Japan – CyberEvo (the reigning Champion), RE Amemiya, Scorch Racing, Team Top Fuel, PanSpeed. From UK – Redbrick Racing. From USA – ARK Desing. From NZ – RevolutioNZ. From Australia: Hi Octane Racing, MCA Suspension, Tilton Interiors, Pulse Racing, Mercury Motorsport, Notaras Motorsport, plus many more! So that pretty much confirms panspeed will be there |

Good to see cars from last year coming back, although I do think Redbrick Racing might be the dark horse this year.

with hired driver Gareth Lloyd (Le Mans 24h experience and high powered 4WD cars) they will certainly be fast and they've been doing alot of training... but if an outside contender was to break into the top three or win it I'd put my money on Under Suzuki... he's very close to a 53' at Tsukuba which would put him into the level of performance Garage Revolution category
they may leave the car down in Australia and take it to Tsukuba to try their luck at the overall record Some Additional Video and Build Info: http://www.screamingtyres.com/?p=4376 http://www.youtube.com/watch?index=88&playnext=1&v=PwR-EzZmtPc&list=PLC2B8AECFA8FBBBB4 http://forums.evolutionm.net/evo-general/602798-redbrick-racing-training-world-time-attack-challenge.html http://forums.evolutionm.net/evo-show-shine/491274-redbrick-racings-time-attack-evo.html http://www.lancerregister.com/showthread.php?t=403383 from what I've heard live streaming set up for those who can't attend |

New Info Released On the Eastern Creek Track Layout for 2012 from the Facebook page
http://www.facebook.com/WorldTimeAttack WTAC minus 90 days. Well we had a long meeting with Eastern Creek today to iron out a few things. One of them being the actual track of course. We'll have a new map of the circuit soon, but the 2012 WTAC will be run on the "Grand Prix" track which is essentially last year's track with one of the corners smoothed out a bit. So time-wise it will be perhaps half a second faster than last year's but overall very similar. In case you haven't heard Eastern Creek is undergoing a series of improvements which can only be a good thing Both the track itself and the facilities are receiving an upgrade and the 2012 WTAC will be the first event to be held at the "improved" circuit. Things are moving along nicely, and the pace is picking up now. We're looking forward to some exciting news from the overseas competitors' shakedown and testing! Should have some for you next week Last edited by F50GTPlus; 12 May 2012 at 02:00. |

The Top Fuel S2000 went out for a shakedown around Suzuka and was able to put down a 2'15"92 for comparisson the legendary HKS CT230R's best time there was a 2'02"920... it's only testing but I would hope that with future improvements they could atleast get to within three seconds of the HKS time especially since the Cyber Evo was rumoured to be faster than the HKS Evo prior to last year's competition
http://www.worldtimeattack.com/index...own-at-suzuka/ http://www.advanwheels.com.au/racing/car.aspx?id=48 Top Fuel S2000 Specifications Engine: Honda F20C Kai 2.2Litre Power: 700 hp Weight: 1,030 kg Power To Weight Ratio: 0.68 hp/kg |

Team USA has been officially announced as a pro entry with ARK Design taking over XS Engineering's old R32 GTR giving it Cosworth power and a no compromises set up from suspension guru Mike Kojima... although last time Sierra Sierra transmission could not handle their final full power lap, ARK's R32 will use the Hollinger sequential currently used by many top 1000+ hp drag GTR's
in the pro class Nemo, Team USA and Mecury Motorsport's R35 all are capable of 3 digit power figures... Sierra Sierra hit 290 kph on the front straigh at last year's event, maybe this will be the year someone finally hits 300 kph on the main straight http://www.worldtimeattack.com/index.php/ark-design-heads-up-usa-assault/ |
