more than likely i dont know much about that side of things. I think he will do alright though top 15 would be good, top ten - great!!
Not seen any renault races but it looks fiercly competitive.

What are the cars like to drive? they have quick lap tmes but i have been told it is quite challenging to get the best out of the package?

Had an e-mail from Renault to say that Ben has replaced Fabian Coulthard at Manor Motorsport, good luck to him this weekend.

Good news, though i cant quite understand why FC has decided to leave the championship to concentrate on a career in Australian V8 Supercars.

i know FC fairly well and i would say he is another victim of the dreaded funding scenario, real shame really.
on the other hand Aussie V8 Supercars would be the best touring car catagory in the world so why not go there.I know he had two very successful tests with Larry Perkins before he came here last year but decided to chase his dream in single seaters, like lets face it everyone does.

FPA SERIES LEADER LEWIS REPLACES COULTHARD AT MANOR

Leading Formula Renault UK Championship team Manor Motorsport has confirmed that Formula Palmer Audi series leader Ryan Lewis (Royston) will drive at Brands Hatch this weekend in place of Fabian Coulthard (Kiveton) - the latter having decided to leave the championship to concentrate on a career in Australian V8 Supercars.

Coulthard's departure from the championship has been greeted with great sadness by everyone at Manor Motorsport as the 21-year old New Zealander, born in Barnsley, had shown great progress since joining Formula Renault UK at the start of the season with a best result of sixth coming at Donington Park last month.

Speaking on behalf of Manor Motorsport, team manager Tony Shaw said: "It's a great shame Fabian is leaving the championship as he's a fantastic advert for Formula Renault due to the hard work and commitment shown since he arrived in the UK at the start of the season. We've had some very good times with Fabian and it did look as though it was shaping up to be a very strong end to the championship for him.

"I don't think people quite realised how much hard work Fabian had to put in to his driving when he joined the team and he's improved so much through the season. Sadly it's been decided his future lies in V8 touring cars and everyone at Manor Motorsport would like to wish him all the very best."

Lewis, meanwhile, joins the Formula Renault UK Championship as the current leader of the FPA series having finished off the podium only once in eight rounds so far this year and Tony Shaw believes he'll put in a good showing at Brands Hatch this weekend.

Tony added: "We're delighted to welcome Ryan to the team and he obviously knows how to drive a racing car considering his current position in Formula Palmer Audi and the consistency he's shown through the season. Hopefully he won't have too much trouble stepping straight into the Renault this weekend - we're looking forward to it."

Speaking ahead of his first ever Formula Renault race Lewis commented: "It's definitely going to be a new experience for me but it's one I'm greatly looking forward to and I'm confident that I'll go quite well. Formula Renault UK is a good championship and hopefully I'll get a decent result at Brands on the back of my two podiums there in FPA last weekend."

· Fortec Motorsport will field Fulvio Mussi (Colchester) this weekend at Brands Hatch in place of regular driver James Murphy (Towcester). The seat vacated by Mussi at Jensen Motorsport will be taken by Jamie Morrow (Walton-on-Thames) who ran with the team earlier this season.

It will be interesting to see what times Mussi does today, as he having run near the back of the grid for the season to-date, if he moves up the order this weekend it would be reasonable to suggest it's the car making the difference.

I hear that Ryan will make his F3 debut with SYR at Donington next weekend - If he gets to grip with the aero and sticky tyres (compared to FPA) he'll do OK
