Deliveries to which teams

Would be nice to know to which teams the cars went to. If each team was supposed to get 1 should we assume there will be at least 10 teams?

Does anyone have any idea as to the cost of one of the new cars? I wonder how much more expensive they are than the old Lola's.

This article in today's Indy Star answers a lot of your questions thus far:

http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dl...612210477/1052

The Cliff Notes version:

The new Panoz DP01 costs $220,000...half the cost of the Lolas

Each team got one car....so Yes...10 teams....

The other 25 or so that will be delivered will be back-up cars, etc....

They were distributed by the dates on the invoices, or dates on order forms so that no favortism would be shown, and they wanted every team that ordered to get one on the initial delivery so that everyone could open and play with their new toys on equal footing, thus giving no one an advantage of having more time to check out what they will be racing this year.

I saw the test mule at PRI in Orlando...gorgeous race car....

Seems very intelligent and even handed; a good way to solve potential problems.

Well that article confirms many things. First off this ends the rumors for D&R or any other car coming into the series. It also confirms that each team will have at least 2 cars on the grid. A minimum of 20 cars then. A couple of teams (Newman/Hass, Minardi amongst others) and it is possible to have 24 on opening day. It is most likely going to be 22.

Here are the 10 teams:

1. Dale Coyne Racing
2. Forsythe Championship Racing
3. Mi-Jack Conquest Racing
4. Minardi Team USA
5.Newman/ Hass Racing
6. Pacific Coast Motorsports (new entry)
7. PKV Racing
8. Rocketsports Racing
9. RuSport
10. Team Australia

D & R

D & R will most probably stay in the IRL. Their web-site is announcing all the events for the next season in the IRL.

The pictures of the new car give me mixed emotions. The side-view of the car is great, but i don't like the nose of the car. It just doesn't look much like the cars CART/Indycar/Champcar raced in the past 2 decades. Imho when you look @ the car from the front, it's hard to tell if it's a gp2, nippon or champcar. The cars champcar used to race where quite different to other o-w series. But again, the side-view is great.

i agree, although they are great looking cars, they dont have that distinctivenes that the old indy cars, CART and champ cars had.

another reason i like the champ cars is because they still has the old stick shifters, racing drivers really earning there money.

imo modern racing cars are just becoming big karts now

Interesting to see the cars...had seen a pic of one but last time I saw one was when it was still being built in the Panoz factory in September!

Yes you're right about the Panoz. I assume Kieran was referring to the old cars.
