2021 Hi-Tec Oil Bathurst 6 Hour
The Easter weekend signals a return to production car endurance racing to the mountain after last years race was cancelled.
62 cars have entered the race, with the likely winner to come from Class X which is dominated by BMW. Unlike the recent Supercars round from Sandown, you can watch this race live on free to air TV and not at some ungodly hour on this most holy weekend. |

Hope all who have entered are able to take part, depending on what happens with lockdowns and restrictions North of the border.
FTA is important for some, less so for others. Personally I don't watch FTA anymore (although I DO use their respective streaming apps to catch up on things I want to keep track of). I know many, many people who like me, no longer watch live FTA but for those who do, good to see that they can check out the 6 hour etc. |

Lots of room for FTA ads in a 6 hour race

Not important for everyone and not important for every sponsor - depends on the demographic they are chasing. No negativity or digging from me at all ole fella! |

Brisvegas lockdown ends at noon today (Thursday).
Good news for the 6 hour, all those people from Brisbane should be able to head down as long as NSW govt doesn't require them to quarantine or something like that. |

The entry looks pretty good. The entry for the 2019 6 Hour was a disgrace and way down on quality compared to the previous 2 years.Go past Lynton and Sherrin and it was poorer standard than a state round. This looks to be on a par to 2018.
Great support classes which are a bigger attraction than the 6 Hour-TCR,GT and TransAm. By the way for those precious people worried about ads on fta have they ever heard of DVD recorders?Set it to record, start watching 2 hours later, fast forward through the ads, talking heads etc and you will catch up by the end saving 2 hours of your life. Hoping for good weather for my trip there this weekend. |

Unless you've been to one of the risk sites, online form is the go - full details here on the NSW Government website. |

The 6hr was live on Foxtel in 2018 and 2019..... one guesses there is a reason it has moved up to FTA this year in seek of a larger audience?

Dumb question department, is it a 6 hour race in time or a minimum number of laps?

Its an 11.15am start with 5:15pm finish end of story, last lap is the last lap started before the clock gets to 5:15pm. Same story with any timed race from LM24 down. Edit: Mind you I have no idea what happens in the case of a delayed start for weather etc, whether it would run until 5:15 or the full 6 hours. I guess that would be something dependant on the TV deal with broadcasters having to go to News and stuff. Last edited by E.B; 2 Apr 2021 at 03:14. Reason: Proviso for delayed start added |

The thing about everyone wanting to see live coverage of sport is having to deal with the weaknesses of it. The shortened Excel race highlights this.

Seems there’s quite a few issues the the MRF tyres & failures - I’ve never heard race tyres squeal so much!

BMW's need some competition.....a Cayman or a new Supra....either that or make them run the M2 in A1, and delete the X Class....otherwise have enjoyed the race.
