Once again good old Black flag Max has been stretching the truth a little when he claimed he felt sorry for Rossi and knew how he felt as the same thing caused him to lose the title in '98. This was reported by Daryl Beattie on RPM and I think he summed it up perfectly with the comment, " can't wait to hear what Mick says when he hears this"

1998? Was that his first year in 500's? Was that the year he did'nt once beat Doohan while the were both on track, not once? That year?

Well he could have taken the penalty, like Barros, and got the points. Instead he stayed on track, ignored the black flags and got disqualified. Rossi got a much lighter penalty really - but he had no choice in it, and no way of doing anything about it.

i honestly believe that was teh race that wrecked the 98 championship. Unfortuately we will never know what might have been. Dont forget max scored his first ever motogp win on debut.
