Weekday Marshals

Having done a few tests during the week at Brands and Snetterton (and having gone off at both venues during said tests) I've always been suprised (and impressed) at the number of marshals working on a weekday. I've been at Zandvoort for a F3 test and there was not one marshal around the circuit.

My question is: do these marshals take time off work to be at these tests or are the full time (ie: work for racing schools during the week, etc)?

Depends on the circuit. I can't speak for Snet but e.g. for Donington it seems to be about half-and-half off duty firemen and regular marshals who have days to spare midweek (early retirement or no jobs at present?).

Oulton sems to run with regulars, mostly marshals - see above.

Regards

Jim
