RF00 Van Diemen Bodywork onto RF96

I am trying to find some more aerodynamic bodywork for an RF96. Here in Australia a guy got some bodywork for an RF00 and retro fitted it to his 97, but told me that the 96 and 97 are too different and that it wouldn't work. Any suggestions?
I know the 96 was designed with the zetec in mind, and so have the very bulky rear bodywork. The guy with the 97 said the car became a better car once he had it fitted. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
