Monaco and Indianapolis
Are Graham Hill and now JPM the only drivers to win both events?

Mario never won at Monaco? hmmm Graham Hill was the man! Isn't he the only guy to have won at Monaco "5 times!", Indy, and Le Mans? Surprisingly Jim Clark never won at Monaco!

Clark was always unlucky at Monaco - and he missed it at least once (1965) to do Indy.

it's a tricky game, that of finding combined records here and there!
Is there anything particular in having won both Indy and Monaco? In my opinion is not much more that a pure statistic divertissement! JV has not done that, but he has won Indy and a WDC, which means something more, i guess |

Schumacher has also won Moncao 5 times. I very highly doubt that he would run Indy though. Villenuve and Montoya are the only current F1 drivers that know what Indy means.

Schumacher's too much of a gutless wimp to take on an oval. He's said that himself.

Chances are he'd still get the job done if he did find himself in an IRL car, though I can't see him wanting to myself.
Personally, I'd like to see him in a Sportscar, but that's unlikley too. |

Hmmm... Maybe JPM and Mario could share a car at LeMans so they could both get that monkey off their backs?

JV has said he will compete at LM when his F1 career ends (hes not interested in Champcars).
Scumachers also said LM is the only race he would consider post F1. In fact Schumacher may race (but probably only test) the new mid-engined Masarati GTS car, if only for publicity and a favour for Jean Todt. |

If JV wins LeMans he would have a CART title, F1 title, Indianapolis 500 and LeMans. Has anyone done that? I'm thinking Fittipaldi or Andretti?

Why would he waste his time & talent running around with a bunch of chumps? Actually I feel the same, I'm going to Chirnside Park! |

If Jacques won Le Mans, he should be regarded as one of the best drivers ever, shouldn't he?
He would lack Monaco though. In 1996 he was ran over by Badoer, and starting with slicks in the wet in 1997 wasn't sensible... |

Schumacher has said in the past he wouldn't run on ovals because they are too dangerous, or something like that.

Graham is still the only pilot to have won Monaco-Indy-Le Mans.
Monty can do the same thing now ! |

I am sure Montoya will have a crack at Le Mans after his F1 career is finished...to be honest, Le Mans is probably the easiest of the three to win, that is, if you're in the top team (Audi, or now, Bentley). I hope he does it.

and if shumi tries Indy he wouldn't be in a crapo operation- the marlboro ties would only leave MS to drive for one team, frankly one of the best at INdy the Penske organization who have won the last 3 years- of course that toyota engine might pose a problem..

Not if he goes to Indy after his Grand Prix career is over.

But he was 4th, and ran over by a backmarker. 4th is always better than a DNF, ain't it?
