Motorsport UK / ACU MAllory Test Day

Friday (15th) saw the first split test day of the year, the link being there were only 4 cars out (Open Pit Lane!), and all 4 were 'historic.

Two mid to late 80's FF1600's and an early 80's FF2000 with that lovely Pinto sound along the Pit Straight - all cars were 'new' to their drivers.

The Tin Top was an immaculate bright yellow Midget brought down from York for it's first run out with a 'new' yet to race driver.
The rebuilt 1380cc A Series engine was redlined @ 8200 although on the day the driver kept it below 5K.
Looking forward to seeing him during the year @ the MGCC meetings as he's racing in the Midget / Sprite Challenge in Class E.

After lunch the bikes when out -11 in total, again in an open pitlane, very spectacular were 2 BSB Superstockers that were definitely the fastest things we saw all day.

Lets hope the next day on Wednesday March 6th attracts more cars

Friday is an unusual day for Mallory. Was that a one off or have they abandoned Wednesdays?

Obviously they won't get many Historics yet as so many people are touring NZ and Oz at the moment ....

It's a case of fitting them in.

The next 4 days are 2 on Wednesday & 2 on a Thursday -

Wednesday March 6th, Thursdays April 11th, 25th then Wednesday May 8th.

Book in, we'd love to see you

I'll add them to my calendar.

I'm guessing that delta will still be travelling for the March date but April and May might be interesting to him.

Had a good Javelin Track Day today in glorious Spring sunshine - usual array of Hot Hatches including 7 C1 drivers but probably the quickest car out there was a race prepared 1973 Datsun 240Z in a nice red, white & blue livery.
