Australian F3
Well negotiations are underway to see Formula 3 headline a major event in Victoria this year. However those details will be disclosed as we get closer to the event.
Also on the horizon for Australian Formula 3 is a step into the Asian Motorsport Market. The potential for an Asia-Pacific championship is huge. Imagine rounds of F3 in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Indonesia, Malaysia etc. The money in Asia is there, and the amount of young drivers to emerge from this hemisphere is ever increasing. We are currently in the 2nd year of a 3 year plan for Australian F3. Once that has been seen through I believe that it will step up to even greater heights. It is up to us, as motorsport purists to educate the rest of the Australian Motorsport marketplace into seeing what Formula racing is all about. Cam |

I was in Adelaide for the first round of the championship. Lets just say that it's going to take some time before the championship starts turning out some future stars. OKay there are only really 2 proper teams to talk of...BRM and Piccola Scuderia. The other cars are being run by enthusiasts which is fine but they are never going to be competitive. It was so good to see F3 cars at Adelaide and all the people involved were happy to stop and chat even if they were busy. It has been a long time since you could do that in the UK.
I do really hope big things come of this championship and it is bad news to hear about Piccolas cars being involved in that crash. |
