Lady Helen Stewart
Just seen such a moving interview with Jackie Stewart and his sons regarding their wife/ mother Lady Helen Stewart and dementia . Looks like Sir Jackie has just started his toughest race.

That's very sad to hear. Unfortunately it comes to many of us in the end.

Saw that. Very sad. She's a very gracious lady and JYS is clearly devoted to her.

I've not seen the interview myself but knowing the effect it had on my dear old Mum, Dementia is a terrible thing to deal with. Both for the sufferer and their nearest & dearest.

Thought JYS behaved with real dignity. Certainly putting his money where his mouth is - £1 million from his own pocket to fund Race against Dementia, to find "the Adrian Newey of medical research".

Heart breaking disease, can only wish Sir Jackie, Lady Helen and their family all the best, and hope that they are able to make a difference.

In the life of JYS, he has had so many personal challenges, his and his son's dyslexia, trying to safe the lives of his fellow competitors, his son's cancer and now this. He has handled the news very well so far and only hope this can inspire others who have the same problem in their family

Heartbreaking - and younger readers may want to check out how gorgeous Lady Helen was in her late Sixties heyday . The passage of time gives a very cruel perspective.

Just one thing: she's not "Lady Helen Stewart". She's Helen, Lady Stewart.
