Thanks guys. I appreciate the support. I won 4 free races for next year so that should help me out financially. I'll be competing again the in the same series(SCCA Formula Russell Championship) and if I win that championship the chances of me getting a full ride in Star Mazda in 2006 are pretty good. I'm already saving my money to make sure that I can run the full season. I think most of you know, but my website is http://www.jeremyspiering.com and it has all of my results and pictures and stuff from the 2004 season. It hasn't been updated since the race on Saturday as I just got back in town and have been too busy with work and school. I'll try and get it updated tommorow sometime.

From Michael Valiente about his Mexico City debut.
“It caught me by surprise,” he confesses. “On cold tires in the Atlantic car, especially in the slower corners where it would understeer a lot, you would just crank the [steering] wheel and generate a lot of heat in the front tires and it really wouldn’t do anything [untoward]. But on the Champ Car I started to do the same thing, and then the front tires just bit and, I mean, instantaneously it spun me around. I couldn’t correct it because I ran out of lock! It was a really slow, lazy spin, too - about 20mph…” See, I don't feel so bad about my spin on cold tires now. My spin, didn't happen like his, although it was similar in that it was a slow lazy spin, about 20mph. Gave me a LOT of time to think about how dumb it was. Best of luck in the future jjspierx, hope to see you in a champcar some day.
But jjspierx no one beats Gaston Mazzacarne when it comes to spinning out on cold tires, remember Vancouver on the warm up laps when he gased it into the wall, but i think that was the team plan for that race. Last edited by dubby99; 23 Nov 2004 at 08:59. |

3rd is very good. I know you're probably a bit disapppointed, but the manner in which you got that 5th and some of your other finishes lets you know that you're capable of winning it.

From a CC site article that macdaddy linked in another thread:
"Adds Vasser: 'The Star Mazda series is an example of a great little formula that we need to support and nurture. I'd like to see the Star Mazda cars race with Champ Car a few times each year.'" Wouldn't that be cool? |

Yeah, quite cool. I don't know how likely that is to happen though. Star Mazda is sanctioned by IMSA, and I think IMSA is happy having them the support series for American LeMans(also IMSA). One can hope though. Also I'd be afraid of the series cost rising because of getting more exposure at bigger events.

The cars are Corporate American Modified, their 2,000 lb. full size race cars
with racing tires and racing suspension. |

Looks very cool GBoehm. I don't know exactly how that thing will work (sounds like you get to lap for 5 mins each turn?), but my advice to you is to get on track as much as humanly possible. Never miss a turn to get on the track. Experience is everything and you'll see results each time you go out. I haven't driven on an oval, but I'd really like to. My only real opportunity would be at one of those "king of the hill" nights during the intermission for the real racers, which I'm not too eagar to participate in.

Don't worry though it won't turn me into a NASCAR fan.
