Exceptionally dull. Sad for such a great circuit. A couple of overtakes but other than that, pretty soporific..... A generous 4.

That was a dull affair, 3. If it wasn't for Monza itself, one track that Hermann Tilke hasn't been allowed to butcher, it would have been 2.

I gave it a 4. That is generous as I considered a 3 as well.

+10. I didn't fall asleep once.
I was only disappointed by the lack of coverage of beautiful Italian ladies in the crowd. |

3. Any potential fun was killed dead by DRS. Really starting to crush my love for this sport, now...
I think what bothers me most is the sheer laziness from the FIA to not adjust/move the zones and try some different things. After its first year in 2011, they made various changes and tweaks to many of the zones for 2012/13. Since then, we've seen barely any changes made, which suggests they're perfectly happy with highway passes. It's killing my love for this sport. I can't force myself to be excited for inevitable passes, I just can't. I don't even have that same adrenaline that I used to get for the 5 lights going out now. The dull hum of the V6 doesn't exactly help. This was sad. Selby |

Tyre saving, fuel saving, time saving...drs crap...
Take the wings off and the green crap in the engines, replace with V10s and a gear stick, then lets see WHO can drive.. Last edited by djinvicta; 4 Sep 2016 at 18:33. Reason: Sorry. Scored a 2. Only because the wine box was near me... |

Tilke may not have butchered it, but surely no-one can get enthusiastic about the first and second chicanes. Ascari's not so bad. Lesmos are nothing special. Which only leaves Parabolica. It's a greatly over-rated circuit if you ask me.

I don't know about that, I've seen some good races there over the years.

I know what you mean TrapezeArtist; I think Monza is more highly rated than it might be because of the history and the location. It is not a place like Spa where a dull race is livened up by the corners. Having said that, I gave it a six (above average even!) because I enjoyed it for whatever reason (I enjoy them all), but no it wasn't really above average.

Exactly, once again all the other racing this weekend (Gp2, Gp3, Indycar, Moto GP) was far superior to borefest of F1. Shame that this is the pinnacle of motorsport. It's the fact two drivers dominate every race that kills it for me. DRS I think is perfectly fine, it would be an even bigger bore without it at most tracks.

Gave it a 4 - higher than it probably deserves due to my fondness for Monza. MotoGP and World Rallycross were much more exciting viewing.
DRS is a killer at some tracks for sure and this is one of them. |

5 from me - race effectively over once Lewis messed up, as the result was settled with the Mercs being able to start on Softs.......They are effectively a tyre grade quicker than the rest.
Some nice overtakes - Ricciardo, Jenson on Fernando for example, but can't say it grabbed me. I was last at Monza in 1993, watching Damon win, so maybe I'm just jaded |

Gave it a 7, would of been lower without the podium celebrations.

the podium crowd was really the highlight of the day.
actually was quite impressed with how Nico turned the crowd which seemed to once again have some booing going on to Nico leading them in song. probably reading too much into it but is this a turning point for Nico...emerging as a crowd favorite/superstar in his own right? |
