Am worried

Please let it be Dale Coyne Racing and not Rusport. I wonder how CTE will be linked to all this since he just got into the CTE -HVM partnership this year. Would have liked for numbers to go up but am pleased that this will not be a team with pay drivers but actually a super team that will challenge for a title.

["I'm buying an Indianapolis-based team, but I can't say more than that for now," he said. "I'd like to be able to announce it in Mexico City this weekend."

Stoddart was understood to be looking at buying the RuSPORT team, but he has ruled that out.]
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/55575

at least it is not Rusport, so The numbers on contending teams should go up. But he says he is buying an Indianapolis- based team, what about him possibly buying Dryer and Rienbold, He needs new cars anyways so it doesnt matter what series he buys a team from. Just a thought but possible. Other wise who would you think Stoddy might buy?, I am not sure Dale Coyne wants out or he would have gave up a long time ago(wouldn't he?), CTE is on the up swing why sell, What about RocketSports?

Rumours are spreading on many forums that Rusport is up for sale and the sale must be done quickly. Some even say that employees have been told to look elsewhere for work. Another rumor has Petit and Gentilozzi looking at buying the team. All in all I think we will have a very different Champ Car comes next year.

Notice Stoddart keeps saying an indy based team but never says an indy based champcar team... It will be interesting to see what is announced at Mexico city.

Just when cte-hvm have won their first race and are starting to become a top team something like this happens.

Just IMO, but I think Autosport's speculation about HVM is probably accurate. They've been looking for a buyer for that team for a long time and I would imagine the price undercut Russo's. That said, if Russo was negotiating to sell, he must want out or is at least entertaining that possibility.

I haven't seen any effect of the partnership with CTE or even if it still exists.

CTE was on the podium at Surfers.

Didn't know that but we don't quite know if he's an owner or not and how much a piece of the team he has and on what basis....was it a cash-free investment to draw sponsorship, like Willy T. Ribbs had going with Bill Cosby years ago? Hard to tell.

Half of me would quite like it to be D&R in order to get numbers up in Champ Cars but at the same time personally I'd rather we added numbers both in CC and in the IRL (sacrilege in this forum i know!)

Not hard to tell at all. A RACER article on CTE/HVM detailed all this a few months ago, look it up.

CTE has been reasonably competitive this year winning at Surfers.

Cedric has had some impact. His companies name was on the sidepods this year and he has been at the races including Surfers.

Bill Cosby did help Willy with personal funds.

I also kind of hope it is D & R just to further boost the numbers in CCWS. Also if teams start defecting sides then it may encourage more meaningful discussion about reunification. Still a distant prospect but even a small move like Stoddart buying an Indy team for CCWS would have some impact.

Out of all the teams mentioned, D&R look the least likely to be able to run 2 cars or a single competitive car next year, so it might be better if they are the team Stoddart buys out. On the other hands, in the long term I'd like to see a single series again, but with CCWS currently not capable of running on ovals, it could be a bad short term situation if that happens.

IMO, D&R just signed a couple oval-track engineers in preparation for the IRL season. I seriously doubt that it's switching to CC.
