No lift for Saleen
Bad news for the Saleens, the penalties imposed on thier cars will not be lifted for Le Mans. They thought they had met the criteria for the ALMS and therefore LM but now the 50KG ballast and 10% reduction in air restrictor size will remain.

Probably a good thing. I love those Saleens and would have one if I could afford it, but unless they make the road cars they shouldn't be in the same class as the Corvettes etc. Get on and make those cars, then in 20 years I might be able to afford one!

I agree with FG1. Saleen never fulfilled the class requirements (number of cars produced). No more rule bending, dealing with Ferrari is enough!

FG1 they could do with you buyin gone so they could get nearer the limit!
How many Saleens have been made? And do the racers count towards the final figure or do they have to be road cars? It says that "other demands have been met" (hence the reduction from 75 to 50kg and 15% to 10%). What are these other demands? |

Change of mind? Aren't they just receiving penalties as outlined in the rules? At least its not a V8 BMW M3!

So there are 12 road going "SuperVettes" that have been built?
The new FIA and ACO rules for GTS will hopefully make it so that if a Saleen or Maserati have to build 25 cars -then so do GM and Chrysler. GM have only built one homologation special Corvette. Does anyone here think that a ZO6 is even close to being like the Corvette GTS car? KM |
