My thanks to all marshalls for flagging etc so well in the appalling weather on the Monday. I trust that you have started to dry out........

I know that Dave Scott will be writing to all of you expressing his thanks (and I don't want to 'steal his thunder') but I just wanted to say a special 'thank you', on behalf of Masters for everything you all did over the weekend and particularly yesterday to make the meeting happen. I know some of the grids were disappointing and it's difficult to critisise the drivers who were unwilling to risk some very valuable cars in those conditions. However, those who did race were full of praise, not only for you sticking with it in the apalling weather, but also for the quality of flagging and handling of the incidents - I had many requests to pass on their thanks and I'm pleased to have this opportunity to do so. Look forward to seeing you all at some dryer (!) future meetings and thanks again

Thanks John,
I must say that Sunday was one of the best days marshalling I've had. Fanfastic cars, bringing back a lot of memories, being driven hard, in some great races. Sunday was not as good due to the fact that I was, again, on the flag tower at post 24 and the wind and rain were howling through it. I'm not moaning about being on that post, somebody had to suffer and this time it was me. I can't blame any of the drivers for not wanting to race their very valuables in such conditions, but would like to praise all those that did and, generally, throwing caution to the wind. Thanks to Don for keeping me company on 24 throughout an very enjoyable weekend. Well done to MSVR, "Masters" and Track Maintenance (especially after the oil slick, which went all the way round the circuit on Sunday). I'll certainly try and attend this meeting next year. |
