Donington FRenault Test: Top 5 Predictions
Ten packs of cigarettes/pints of ale/a sloppy wet kiss says Robert Bell will be fastest in Donington's official Formula Renault test on Wednesday.
Paul, Bella, BAR Babe, Francesca? I'm sure you'll be quick to give your predictions. Any more sports in the crowd? My top 5 tips are: 1. Bell 2. Watts 3. Green 4. Viso 5. Long How many within a second of the fastest time? I'll go for 11. Donington GP is much more technical than Snetterton, but satill, around there, that'd be mighty impressive. Katherine Legge will also be in the top 10? She flew there in there in the final winter series round. |

Going on the fact that Hamilton and Green know most of this circuit, I'm going to put them up there. I'll take you up on the bet, Jonny, a pint in the Kentagon at Brands please if Bell isn't fastest. Actually, make that a Bud.
1) Hamilton 2) Bell 3) Watts 4) Green 5) Long So that's put the curse on all of them to be lower! hysen, Legge crashed at Snetterton due to some technical fault. She went off on the straight after something locked up at the back. |

How an earth did i get involved in this??!???
OK if you insist. Oh and for my prize (yer...right!!!) I'd like the pint in the Kentagon please Jonny. 1. Watts 2. Long 3. Bell 4. Hamillton 5. Davidson That proving i just have no sweet idea where anyone is coming or what anyone is doing! Legge not in the top 10 but in the top 15. Also McLoughlin to be in the top 15. ok now go out and prove me completely wrong!!! Last edited by BAR Babe; 4 Mar 2002 at 23:15. |

Oh, s***, McLoughlin, how could I forget him! He was mega there in qualifying last year and led one of the races and he reckons the base set-up on the Paston car is better than Motaworld's.
White fluffy clouds, eh, Bella? Give me little fluffy clouds any time. |

Also BAR Babe, I'm sure McLoughlin will be thrilled to bits to know that you rate him as highly as Katherine Legge. |

Seeing as I did so badly last time, I'd better have another go:
1. Watts 2. Davison 3. McLoughlin 4. Long 5. Bell 9 drivers within a second. I predict it will be absolutely freezing at Donington with a strong wind and 95% chance of rain! I'm also predicting that I will do worse than last time in the points scale. |

McLoughlin's position went gradually down as the Snetterton test went on, it'll be interesting to see if similar happens this week. |

I would like to add that i rate McLoughlin higher than Katherine Legge when thinking about it but just to cover myself i'll put them both in the top 15.
Saying that Legge was flying round Snett one of the days last week! I will however stick quicte firmly with the local team of Paston and McLoughlin! Lovely clouds for Bella at Donny tomorrow! I'll expect a luch time text!!!!..... or else!!!! back to work!! |

Just had it confirmed that he's testing for Team DFR. Just testing though, there's no room in the championship for extra entrants. For those who don't remember him, he's the American who replaced Jamie Spence in the final round of the 2001 British Formula 3 championship.
Full morning times are now available at www.singleseaters.co.uk There'll be a report at the end of the day, thank you MST for having the times available so quickly today. I like MST again now. Last edited by Paul Rayner; 6 Mar 2002 at 14:06. |

Watts has just gone quickest from Bell with 20 mins to go!
Note: the national circuit is being used as Donington doesn't hire out the GP track unless it's for an actual test directly before a race weekend. Allegedly. FRenault's final double-header meeting in September is on the GP track. Times not so quick today for some reason. |

YES! Come on Watts! There's a beer riding on this! Not that I'm biased, just that alcohol in the Kentagon isn't cheap.

Well done. Grumble.
Right then, going on scores of 2 points for right driver, right place and one for right driver, wrong place, the winner is Jonny "I'm getting free beer" Apex with 6 points. Total scores are: Jonny Apex 6 bella/superbird 4 Paul Rayner/BARbabe/Mr Hahn 3 kbudden 1 I really should just stick to reporting on it. Will have full times up soon.
