small team from the other end of the world

just in case you are looking for yet another touring car team to support, let me introduce you to the Beck Motorsport racing team.

These folks are friends of mine, and they will be active in the Czech Republic and Austria in 2003.

Alright, so it isn't the BTCC.

...but the Austrian Touring Car Challenge has evolved into a pretty decent series over the last 6 years. The cars are Gp.N "plus" up to 2000cc; a return to FIA Gp.N spec is planned for next year.

The Czech Republic has a very active racing scene; they have two races per weekend – one of them a 3 hour enduro. This is for tourers, GTs, and prototypes. At least two prototype teams are expected this year, as well as the Czech FIA GT runners. The odd DTM car may make an appeareance as well. All this adds up to fields of 50 cars or more. The Beck guys have a very decent track record over there – finished as high up as 9th overall last year, with a 1600cc Gp.A car.

A race on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife is also on the agenda this year; and hopefully the 24 Hours there next year (looking for a ride, anyone?). Also, there are a couple of interesting enduros in Spain and Portugal...
