Classes won't change.
I imagine that a Lauren/Mick/Maddison Gray combo in the Corolla Sportivo could be a goer. Glyn Crimp would be the obvious partner for Stuart Kostera in the West Surfing Evo. Kean Booker will probably pop up in one of the GWS 130s, maybe with Shep John Bowe will possibly partner Peter O'Donnell in the 335i Support categories will be HQ Holdens, Mazda MX5 Challenge and the Australian Saloon Car Series |

Confirmed today that John Bowe will partner Garry Holt in the 335i, with Paul Morris possibly having a drive as well. Will be interesting to see if the Bathurst 12 Hour debacle in the past couple of months has had an impact on interest in the AMC competitor ranks. Will most likel be going. Should be a good weekend. Good support classes as well.

A great event and a plus for the category and Eastern Creek which is developing a great list of niche events.

Belly - confirmed by who? Holty told me on Sunday that Peter O'Donnell was driving the 335 and he would most likely pair up with Ryan McLeod in the Astra.

That was posted 2 days before this thread, and 3 days before you had it "confirmed". Holty didn't reveal he had sold the car til after the PR had gone out.

So someone wrote the story for nothing? Mr O'Donnell must have made an offer too good to refuse. Or maybe O'Donnell will still own the car and enter it, while Holty and JB give the old girl the swansong the trusty old Beamer deserves.
By the way alfa, did Holty say what he'd be up to in future if he is selling the car? |

Ummm, hand up, my bad!
The press release was typed up and issued on Saturday morning after the group photo was taken. Over the course of Saturday, the deal was done, now Peter will be using the car at the 6 Hour, co-driver TBA... I believe that Holty will now co-drive with McLeod and possibly Morris in the Astra, although Holty has hinted he might step into an Evo before the season is out. Plus he has a new fishing boat on the way. There'll be a Six Hour specific website launched soon, stay tuned for details... |

Should be a great race. Hopefully the Briffa/D'Agostin combo proves competitive.
As for the Holty situation alfa, I stand corrected. |

Read this on another forum, regarding the Australian Manufacturers Championship.
"Heard a little whisper that the PCAA has basically wiped its hands on pushing the category any more........effective immediately". Has anyone heard anything on the same lines? |

Would that be due to the GT's being eligible for the B12hr and are now killing the production category?

havent heard anything at all ,maybe its just one of those motor sport rumours started because the entry for the PC event at PI was only 16 cars with only 13 starters.
The evo X,s are going to be extremely difficult to beat if they have an uneventfull race. If you look at history the Nissan Skylines caused the Bathurst race car eligibilty to be changed. Who prepared those cars and who prepares the Evo,s? |

ARDC event is not linked with the Australian Manufacturers Championship. It's a standalone event opened up by the ARDC, no doubt to replace the now-dead 6 Hour Relay which was formerly run for Club/State level competitors.
The AMC is utilising the 6 Hour as their showcase event, and to lure out some 12 Hour cars which have otherwise sat dormant during the season. Enduro format is the way forward for Production Cars, their "regular" rounds consist of 1 hour mini-enduros through the year. With the 12 Hour seemingly alienating a substantial number of Production Car competitors with the announcement of GT3-class cars being the new outright class, the 6 Hour is seen to be an economical way for those car owners to continue to race. Multiple drivers means reduced costs per driver, whilst still providing plenty of track time. The ARDC 8 Hour is not confirmed as yet. It may well provide another event for guys to shake down their 12 Hour cars before February though. |

Apparently it may become a round of the Asian Production Car Endurance Championship according to the press release.
Spoke with Motorsport Asia who run the Asian Festival of Speed, which includes the Asian Touring Car Championship and they've never heard of such a series. Also if you're trying to attract Asian competitors it might be a good idea to have your race on a weekend that doesn't coincide with the region's biggest event The Macau GP. Have the ARDC even heard of the Macau GP? Not to mention the stupidity of putting your hand out for NSW Government cash only 2 weeks before that Government's biggest motorsport commitment, and one that's already under intense critical scrutiny. And in all honesty how many people are going to turn up to watch such an event? |

Ted Robinson's FPV F6 will be entered in the 6 hour, with Peter Boylan, Geoff Morgan and Rod Barrett behind the wheel.
Does anyone have any info on entries? |
