Hi Bobby,
I do have some knowledge of touring car racing - but unfortunately, the Borgward was a bit before my time. The only thing I can tell you is this: in 1959, a certain Bill Blydenstein was 5th in the British Touring car championship; in 1961, he was 4th in the final standings. Now Bill is a well-known name in Britain for his Vauxhall preparations in the 70's - so perhaps one of the british members can help you further. I sure hope so, it's a great and special car you have over there. Last edited by Frank de Jong; 17 Apr 2002 at 19:28. |

Hey, Bobby,
I just would like to congratulate you for acquiring such a beautiful piece of machinery. I am a Borgward Isabella fan - I've got a small reproduction of an Isabella advertisement piece in my living room... Even more, you are willing to RACE the princess! You da man. Let me know when the Borgward hits the tracks (or takes part in a historic meeting/exhibition). It would be quite cool if you post a message keeping us updated about your progresses. I never saw an Borgward live... Best regards, Muzza |
