Paul Radisich
With the "Rat" doing, how can I say this? Absolutely $hite
in Aussie V8's, how about a return to the BTCC for Paul, I think he would do a lot better for the right team and would draw the crowds back to our tin top series here in the UK, would you guys in Australia miss him? Last edited by OVERSTEER; 16 Jul 2002 at 01:21. |

I would. I like The Rat, and I think that once (maybe if) Ford pull their finger out, Paul can be as competitive as Ambrose and Lowndes. I want to see him stay.

I would miss him as well , even though he and quite frankly the whole DJR team in a slump this year he is nothing but pure entertainment , i like the guy, his driving style is great and it would be sad if we lost him back to the BTCC.
but having said that maybe he will go maybe he wont, whatever he decides and whatever he drives he will always be great to watch , I just hope he can get back into form here in Oz. |

He will probably go where the best offer to drive is, and the way he's doing in Australia won't be helping him. I'm sure if he was offered a Vauxhall in the BTCC against his current uncompetitive ride, he would take that, same as if he was offered a HRT drive, he would probably take that. He doesn't seem too happy at DJR this year.
I reckon he will probably stay in Australia, it's a pity the current system prevents him from being as aggresive as he can be. Also, isn't his wife British? |

He is probably thinking of retiring or taking a step back, his driving style doesn't suite to many cars as he is very hard on gear. I think he is at the Damon hill piont in life.

I wouldn't be surprised if he did leave our shores for the BTCC or ETCC. As pointed out, the tank like taxis don't suit his driving style, and while he is fast on occassion the consistency needed isn't there, not for any Ford team and doesn't look as if in will be coming untill, hopefully, a new set of rules are put in place.

I don't think his driving style doesn't suit V8s, he has been very competitive in the past, it's just that DJR is struggling now and he is losing motivation, put him in a HRT car and i bet he could challenge Skaife. However, running down the pack is just lowering his value.

This one is very much unconfirmed, but family ties might see him back over based in England.

Put him in a hrt car and he will still brake the car, he is to hard on gearboxes, brakes, etc. We have all seen him on street races bouncing off kerbs, it looks good but lap after lap it will brake the car. He is a nice guy but has no mechanical sympathy.

Isn't that his job to drive the thing as hard and as fast as his can, and the engineers to make sure it doesn't break ?

DRT, it's his job to drive as hard and fast as he can without compromising his chances of finishing the race. There are no points for pole or fastest lap.
In a control formula the engineers can only build the car as strong as the rules allow. |

It would be a shame to see Radisich leave, but considering his complete lack of success in his years over here, an offer from a top BTCC/ETCC team could see him leave for Europe again. It would be a shame, but shouldn't be that surprising.
