What Do You Make Out Of This?
I got this little bit of information from the paddock talk Rumor Bin. It may not be much, but then again, it could be big stuff...
"Considering that at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, the Indy Racing League will make a special announcement. And that the participants will include Sr. Vice President for Business Affairs Ken Ungar and two special guests... What's up?" Thats what I'm wondering! What do you guys think?  hrug:

How do we know that Tony won't be there???
The rumor says the "Participants will include Mr. Unger and two guests".... This could be anything....but I don't think it will be the addition of Long Beach... I think it is a sponsor deal of some sort... |

There was talk about that, during last years silly season, if I remember correctly. Maybe AOL has smartened up, and decided to come to the IRL!

Maybe their going to confirm the rumor that we've been hearing, that Playa Del Racing will be buying out Kelley Racing.

I think I found out what the announcement will be.
It seems that DHL has cozied up to the IRL and the IMS, and that both, plus the rest of the Hulman companies, will use them exclusively for their shipping. Now this Playa Del Racing lists them as a sponsor, so, putting 2 +2 together, the announcement is most likely introducing this new team. It's not all good though, because Kelley is expected to announce that this is his last race. Very likely that Playa Del Racing is taking his assets. Could this DHL deal lead to a series sponsorship, just like Fed Ex once had? Enquiring minds, want to know... |
