V8 BRutes
I was wondering if anyone had any info on the V8 BRute championship. I saw it on Motors TV here in the UK last week and it looked fanatastic - better than the V8 Supercars (I don't know if I'll get slaughtered for that ). I'm not really a pick-up fan but there was bucket loads of overtaking. Is there any website at all? Cheers.

dont forget to have a look at the forum while your there , the drivers jump in and post their thoughts quiet often.
and who wouldnt love the brutes, great racing a bit of biff n barge and Adam Brand cranks the sound system up for the whole race ( playing his own music as well as ACDC at Indy btw) |

I enjoyed the Brutes more than any of the 13 rounds of V8's last year. The Brutes at QR were particularly entertaining. As Ive been saying to anyone that will listen, "If the 2003 V8 supercar Championship is not a huge improvement on the previous cpouple of years , if there are not more winners, more equality etc. Then Im going to watch the Brutes as my main Motorsport enjoyment in 2004." Its pretty bad when the V8's Konica "Feeder" series was more entertaining than the main series and history is looking like repeating itself once again. |

Yeah he brUTEs have turned on some intense racing this year. Race 1 from Winton I think it was looked like an absolute on track brawl.
I wonder if Luffy will be back this season ? I have seen the Ute he won the championship in is up for sale and now that the drive at LRT has fallen through what will he be up to ? |

Yes, I also read in today's AutoAction he will be back - didn't say if he was driving a Holden or a FORD though...

I think it was mentioned on another thread somewhere that to keep costs down VY and BA Utes would not be allowed until the 2004 season.

Guess Ford will be having difficulties supplying the public with XR8's anyway. They wouldn't need or want any added stress.

Both Holden and Ford can update to the new panels which is easy for the Commodore but harder on the Falcon as the radiator support panel is different and that basically means pulling the whole front end out.
Ford cant use the 5.4 litre engine next year. |

Cheers for info guys. I'll have to get decent Sky TV or whatever instead of going to my grandparents every time the BRutes are on

The coverage on Motors TV is excellent. Originally the review programmes had the original commentators and they were hilarious, but now they have redone it with MotorsTV commentators.
Wouldnt be surprised if they got complaints as the commentators were a bit rude in places. Bloody excellent though. We need guys like that in the UK |

Charlie Cox and Leigh Diffey??
Not bad, though Charlie was better suited to the BTCC coverage I reckon. Although, it was Cox's commentary that led me to watch the SBKs in 2002. |

Chris - Do you get all of the PROCAR classes over there (Nations Cup, GT-P, F3 etc....) as well as the Brutes?

I'm not overly sure, because like I said I don't actually have Sky, I just watch it at someone else's house. The only Aussie stuff I've seen is the Brutes, F3, Konica V8s (feeder class?) and the V8 Supercars. I don't recall seeing anything else.

Over the Xmas period they showed all the Pro Car catagories and some of the Bathurst 24 hr, but now the european season's are kicking off I don't think we will see anymore on sky for awhile. A real shame.
