2010 F1 Predictions - Round 19, Abu Dhabi
So here we are then - the final round of the season, the big decider...but if you've seen the results from Brazil you'll know that there is almost no chance of anyone now overhauling runaway leader davec. However, in the interests of transparency I am going to set a rule for entering predictions for this round.
There are 22 points up for grabs in each round, so technically, if everything went astoundingly well (or really badly, depending on your viewpoint), anybody down to tblincoe in 12th place could take the title. This is the type of faint hope which Lewis Hamilton is now clinging onto. It's not very likely, particularly as the highest score this year so far is 19 points (including a 5-point bonus), but to keep it fair, I would like to request that the following people enter their predictions via PM for this round: - davec - rocketracer - Good Times - gti5notrkt - CDK 7 - Pitstop - fast95pony - Grandpa_Rob - f1madmatt - Radex - TwoSheds - tblincoe If your name is on that list, please send your predictions to me via PM rather than posting them in this thread. The deadline remains the same as usual, and once that has passed I will post everyone's predictions in this thread. For everybody else, it's the same deal as always - post your predictions here for pole, top 10 and fastest lap, and the deadline is 15 minutes into first practice this Friday. Good luck! |

Shall I just go for some ridiculous predictions seeing as I'm out of the running for the title? I don't think the points system makes that too viable, as you get a point for predicting anyone even if they're in the wrong place so it would seem odd not to predict that all of the main players will finish. I may as well predict they will and be likely to get a point. I suppose scraping around the lower reaches of the top 10, I could opt for a few less likely but still possible people like Heidfeld to grab a few extra points.
Anyway, I should have gone for Vettel in Brazil for the win and Webber second as I actually predicted rather than going for a sort of 'what I hope will happen' approach in places. I'm fed up of waiting for Hamilton to win, so : 1. Webber 2. Alonso (Well done Red Bull- he's won the championship) 3. Vettel 4. Hamilton 5. Rosberg 6. Button 7. Kobayashi 8. Schumacher 9. Heidfeld or Hulkenberg..hmm, Hulkenberg 10. Massa (he'd better score this time) Fastest lap: The man who wants the fastest lap despite not wanting to beat Alonso in this race- Vettel Pole: Webber |

I make it a max of 28pts per round?
20 for each of the top ten in their correct spot then + 5pt bonus? You would also get bonis for top 3 correct and then also 1 pt each for FL and Pole... as if thats ever going to happen!! Anyways here is my prediction Web Web Vet Alo Ham But Mas Ros Sch Kub Hul Web |

Someone has already pointed out that I overlooked my own system of bonuses. However, it's unlikely that anybody who's more than 20 points behind the leader is going to overhaul him unless they get a seriously good result and he fails to enter, which he hasn't, so rather than getting absolutely loads of people to PM their predictions to me I'm going to stick with those on the original list, who have the most realistic (if we can call it that!) chance of winning.
