So many things about the weekend set up for an entertaining race, but consistently fell flat. Non Mercedes pole set up for an interesting fight that evaporated by the first 3rd of the race, fastest qualifier a complete non feature of the front, and by the time all pit stops were complete, it was all about holding formation.
And my personal favorite F1 fixtures: - Mercedes pessimistic about their pace compared to Ferrari, but not even a thing worth saying during the race - Hamilton complaining about tires midway through the race, only to experience no drop off in tire life. |

Somewhat disjointed, what with Mad Max messing up pole and the rearranging of the front of the grid, sort of took something away.
A shame more can't be made out of that long start/finish straight. Hopefully the new rules in 2021 will address that. 5 Last edited by bjohnsonsmith; 28 Oct 2019 at 00:25. |

Eight for me, lots of action and Sky seemed to be all over it.

6. To my surprise, I found myself disappointed that the supposed tyre deg didn't translate through into widely varying performance.

Struggled to go more than one but gave it two. Don't know if it was the track or the cars but it was just tedious. That stadium area is awful. Slow and tight.

1st few laps were an 8. Rest of the race was a 4. So 5 from me.

Well, I don't think it works. Slow corner followed by slow corner followed by slow corner..................................

Gonna give it a 5. Had enough interest, but the promised excitement didn't seem to come

Do they have to muck about getting the mixture right like the good old days with DFV's ?

a lot of races seems to be falling flat.
iirc, the races this year where the hard tire features have not been great. just an observation (maybe an incorrect one at that) and perhaps more of an issue at this track, but this years cars/tires have struggled with graining hence the need to use of the harder (c1 and C2) compounds at way too many tracks which means less stops and everyone just nursing their cars way more than what a high speed race should be subjected to. no doubt a lot of things contribute to F1's issues, but, imo, seeing teams have no choice but to go on the hards because of allotment rules is a big let down from a spectator point of view. anyways, im abstaining from this vote. i really dont know what to give it. maybe it should be zero because i finished the race thinking what a waste of my time. |

In a demonstration of marvelous consistency I gave it two last year.

4.
Promised the earth, delivered very little! Great drive from Hamilton it must be said. Albon coming along very nicely at RB too. |
