News from the grapevine is that Ambrose & JTG will run a Toyota in 09

Are we therefore talking that the Wood Brothers/JTG Motorsport will be running a second car in 2009, in addition to the #21 Ford, or are they really talking about jumping ship from Ford after all those years?

Good drive today - I reckon thats the best the #21 has performed for a few years ... bit of bad luck stopped a good top 15 finish methinks.

He is worthy of Cup next year, was on the lead lap for a fair bit of the race - far better than petty, nemechek & a host of other drivers...

Ambrose has impressed me in his few cup races definatly deserves to be there in 09. Ambrose is as Ford as they come, will take a while to get used to him in a Toyota.

Brands are irrelevant in USA ... driver loyalty is the big fan base

Maybe to you Aussies, but in America, almost everyone HASN'T heard of him, so they don't know about his previous Ford drives.

reported in eMNews last night he will not be in a MWR Toyota next year, so says his spokeperson. Whether or not it is a customer Toyota from MWR remains to be seen i guess. but if Brad Daugherty wants the best for his team, i don't see this being it... Customer JGR Toyota maybe, but not from MWR

Whilst driver loyalty will generally overcome manufacturer sympathies, I am going to have to totally disagree that brands are irrelevant in the USA.

Looks like Ambrose will be racing for MWR/JTG/Daugherty for the final 4 races of the season in the# 47 Little Debbie Toyota, replacing the MWR #00. (on Jayski)

Doesn't explain if it'll be the 3rd MWR car for '09, or the 4th, I'm guessing the 3rd, if he can get it into the top 35 in these remaining events it'll give the team a great boost for '09 as there were going to be starting out of it, if he doesn't get in, he;ll still be in a good position if any of the first 6 races are rained out.

I worked with Marcus for a few years at the racing school at Brands Hatch, great laugh he is and very talented...we called each "Bruv" (having the same surname!)...Jensen Button knocked him out of the Formula Ford Festival at Brands in the final...the arse, never liked Button after that!! Can't wait to see him next year somewhere...he just needs a good car, a decent team and a little luck...go Bro' !

and backs it up with a 18th placing, on the lead lap, great effort, once again beating the team boss of his new "team" and the preferred driver for one of his old "teams"!
