Engine Lifespans
I couldn't find it anywhere, but how long are the engines in the BTCC rated to last before needing to be replaced?

Sorry that no one more informed has replied to your thread.
I can't be certain, but I recall a figure of an engine rebuild every 20,000km, which seems like a lot, so I could be way off on that. |

Excluding testing, it would take 4 seasons of BTCC to accumulate 20,000km, so I'd guess it was nearer to 2,000.

2 litre turbo with 300 boho - it's a road engine! Will go forever, and probably get quicker too.

An engine should last an entire season with normal use, only requiring a rebuild costing around £8K at the end of the season.
